Lake views and easy beach access

  • Mahuta Rd is a comfortable, informal, open plan Lockwood holiday home with great views across the lake offering the most fantastic sunsets in Five Mile Bay Taupo. The house has five roomy bedrooms. Four of the bedrooms have Queen size beds and the fifth bedroom has a double bed. The beach is a great safe swimming beach 200 metres from the house. There is excellent fly fishing at the mouth of the Waitahanui River 1 km away. The harling is excellent from 5 Mile Bay itself. There is plenty of room in the front of the house for parking boats and cars. There is a private section out the back. Taupo township is 8 mins away by car and there is a local store at Rainbow Point halfway between 5 Mile Bay and town. For the energetic it is possible to walk or bike along the lakefront into town.
    Special conditions:
    Minimum stay 2 nights. Please take all rubbish with you when you leave.
    POA for Lake Taupo cycle weekend.

    Extras: Cleaning (Required, NZ$80.00 per stay); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);

Rustic Home located close to the beach/lake

Good location with enough room for our family for the Ironman Weekend.A disappointment was the lower level bedrooms and bathroom, all needed updating. We would have liked to have seen a welcome manual about house directions, as well.The house host was very communicative with us. Gorgeous views!

Family holiday success

Great stay for my family which included my parents. Very lucky to have heat pump installed as it was very cold weekend. Didn’t realise that downstairs with complete separate but still worked.

Great spot and very relaxing weekend with friends. The smallest thing we wished was if the hot water was going before we got there. Otherwise great stay :)

What a spot

Great spot, heaps of room, booked for Ironman weekend, the stairs were not my friend on Saturday but that’s my fault not this great place.

Excellent for family get together

Plenty of room inside and outside for parking , good facilities and plenty of heating. Only one thing was the main upstairs bedroom lost heat through the curtain onto the closed in balcony on a freezing night . Otherwise great thank you.

I would rate this bach 5 stars for what we required it for. Very comfortable, homely and we felt we could relax without worrying about messing it up. Good parking and easy access off the main road, easy access to the water and bike rides. Yes it ticked our boxes!! thanks from the Trobridge and Shaw families
