Don’t miss the chance to stay in this incredibly Virginia Beach Historical Society restored beach home with two independent dwellings. The Meadowlark located on the first floor features private entrance and private outdoor seating area. It is located on the 1st floor and other guests are on the 2nd. The Meadowlark, sleeps 6 and is an absolutely incredible choice for your vacation or business trip.
Originally built in 1935, this home has been professionally preserved to retain the original Craftsman-style architecture and elegant 1930s character, while simultaneously upgrading it with the most modern amenities. Natural light abounds throughout the unit. Luxury furnishings include Italian leather sofas, memory foam mattresses, and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. A 50” flat-screen TV with Verizon Fios service and free Wi-Fi ensure even rainy vacation days will be fun for your entire group. The fully furnished kitchen allows home chefs to create the seafood meals of their dreams.
A beautifully landscaped backyard contains outdoor cabana showers with hot and cold water, as well as changing rooms to refresh you after a day at the beach. The large sunroom attached to this unit overlooks the yard and is perfect for al fresco dining, reading a book, or just enjoying the natural beauty of the outdoors.

Great Stay!

Our stay at Meadowlard was fantastic! The property was exactly as depicted in the listing and most importantly, CLEAN. The place is especially great for those with kids. There is a large outdoor area to enjoy and no stairs inside the unit to worry about. Harris Teeter is right around the corner and the beach is a short walk from the property. Property manager was extremely responsive. We will definitely stay here again!

Peaceful

This place was perfect for my family of 6. Very clean with a beautiful, well kept back yard. Close walk to beach and all the attractions. Met the owner who was very friendly and caring. We stayed on the lower level which was perfect for my 2 year old. We will definitely be booking here again in the futur.

Good location. Less than 5 min to beach. Lots of plates, cups, utensils. Only 2 bathrooms. Lower level, can hear upstairs neighbors, but not too bad. Harris Teeter very close (1 block away). Landlord was very responsive and helpful.

Nice location

The house is no more than 2 blocks from the beach which made a perfect location. Overall a great condo, well air conditioned for humid and hot weather. Has a really beautiful backyard, bummer we weren't able to enjoy it as it was just way too hot to be outside beyond the beach. Frank was welcoming and responsive. There is a grocery store few minutes away. One parking spot for the property. One little note - this is a condo on the first floor, you may be at the mercy of the neighbors upstairs in terms of quietness during quiet hours. Still -a great house in wonderful location

Perfect beach getaway

Location was perfect, close to groceries, the boardwalk, and eat access to see the 4th of July fireworks. Beautiful property and the outdoor shower was really useful to rinse of the kids.

Lovely Oasis

We stayed in the bottom unit which has access to a lovely courtyard which was so welcomed after long days at the beach. It was so cozy that you felt like you were in your own little spa. So much fun!!

the house was wonderful but it could have been cleaner. the master bath sink drained very slowly and the water pressure was low. the listing shows 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, but there were only 2 bathrooms. The stocked supplies were very plentiful and helpful. the owner was very responsive to my questions. great location. would rent and reccommend to others.

Great stay, convenient location!

My family has been traveling to VA Beach for over 30 years and always stayed in a hotel. Over the last 5 years, we have decided to try VRBO homes to experience other areas of VA Beach. This was our first time staying at Meadowlark and I don't know if we'll look anywhere else for next year. We loved it! Several pluses for this property 1. Frank is great and super friendly! We managed to meet him during our stay and he wanted to make sure that we had everything we needed. 2. Incredibly clean property inside and out. 3. For the coffee drinkers - a Keurig machine and a regular coffee pot are provided. Also, Frank provides some light roast K-cups as well. 4. Beds are memory foam mattresses. Firm but comfortable. The pillows are also very comfortable. 5. One roll of paper towels, back up toilet paper, some garbage bags and soaps are provided as well which is a plus. We are usually scrambling last minute to run to Harris Teeter's b/c we forgot these items. 6. Speaking of Harris Teeter's - it's a short walk and even shorter drive. 7. A very short walk to the beach and 7-11 is close by too. 8. The couches are extremely comfortable! 9. Easy entry with a keypad to lock and unlock the doors. 10. The backyard/courtyard is beautiful and private. Some cons but does not make or break our decision to go back 1. Parking is tight especially if you have a large vehicle. We have a Suburban and had two other cars been parked there, it would have been really tight but would have made it work. 2. There is only one TV in the living room. There are none in the bedrooms. Again, not make or break. My father is older and would prefer to watch Football or movies vs sitting at the beach so we were at his mercy when it came to the TV. lol! 3. If there is someone staying in the second floor unit, you can hear them walking around. Again, not make or break for us, but something to be aware of. This property would be great for a large family to rent both units in this house. They would be able to make great use of the fenced in private courtyard. We hope you enjoy this property as much as we did!

Large home beach getaway

The layout of this house was ideal for our two small families with toddlers. Lots of space to run, children’s books, big backyard, outdoor shower and an assortment of beach toys/umbrellas and chairs. If you are sensitive to noise, you can hear other groups of guests walking around upstairs and the yard is shared with upstairs guests. There was one exposed outlet in the bedroom that I’m hoping the owner addresses before future stays. The kitchen was well equipped and it’s a very short walk to the beach. I would definitely recommend this as a gem of a place! Nice historical details and the furniture was comfy and lux for a beach rental.

Clean and comfortable home. Convenient walking distance to beach and boardwalk. Parking in the back. Washer and dryer. Chairs and umbrellas are available. The owner was quickly responsive to small concerns (slow running drain, light bulbs out). Would definitely rent again.

Suggestions for more comfortable stay.

Needing a hook or towel rack next to bathroom sinks to hang hand towels on, a luggage stand or something like it in the bedrooms to place open suitcases on and there did not seem to be a plug close to the bed to plug in electronic devices (phone). Also the kitchen should have a medium size sauce pan. The peeling paint should be taken care of, if children were to stay at the house the peeling paint was within their reach and a safety/health hazard.
