Twinview executive one-bedroom suite

In our beautiful house situated at the Tanner Ridge residential area, this main floor suite of about 550 sq ft with an executive setting offers a relax and comfortable environment after exploring the West Coast (the world famous Buchart Gardens, beaches, lakes, trails, golf courses, wineries, and recreation centers). Close to the highway, 10 mins drive to the Buchart Gardens. Within the maximum 20 mins drive, you can reach Sidney, downtown Victoria, shopping centers, airport, and ferry terminal.

In our beautiful house situated at the Tanner Ridge residential area, this main floor suite of about 550 sq ft with an executive setting offers a relax and comfortable environment after exploring the West Coast (the world famous Buchart Gardens, beaches, lakes, trails, golf courses, wineries, and recreation centers). Close to the highway, 10 mins drive to the Buchart Gardens. Within the maximum 20 mins drive, you can reach Sidney, downtown Victoria, shopping centers, airport, and ferry terminal.

This suite is set up for two persons with a great comfort.

- A fully equipped cooking area with a bar style cabinet of stone countertop and new stainless steel appliances (fridge, cooktop with double burner, large Panasonic microwave, Hamilton Beach convection toaster oven, Cuisinart coffee maker, electric kettle), stocked with coffee, tea, sugar, cooking set, wine glasses and cups, knife set, chopping board, paper towel, cooking oil, salt, and pepper to get you started.

- A good size and private bedroom with a king bed and luxury Kingsdown mattress, bedding set, two night stands, and two table lamps.

- A very comfortable and well decorated living area with 55in LG 4K smart TV with a super fast Telus 1 Gg wireless internet and the premium Netflix, two loveseats, a dinning table with two chairs, a coffee table and a side table, and floor lamp.

- A good size wash room with a stone counter top, bathtub/shower combo, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap, toilet papers, and hair dryer.

- Laundry with a brand new washer/dryer, detergent, iron and board.

- Access to the backyard and enjoy a valley view on a patio set.

Excellent. My only hesitation, when I asked for a later check out, after being there a week and spending $1k plus the host wanted to charge me extra although I understood there was no one checking in that day. I thought it was a bit petty.

Not Quite what we expected

The property was very clean. We would have appreciated cable television. The patio area was not as expected since the small bistro table and chairs were amid the owners belongings. The smell from near bye farms was very strong. No screens on any of the windows so we were apprehensive about opening them. No air circulation, the unit was very hot.

Nice quiet neighborhood

The rental had a private entrance, located in a lovely mature neighborhood. It was easy to find and only 20 minutes to downtown Victoria. Lots of space for 2 people and the bed was comfortable, lots of hot water for showers. A few filters for the coffeemaker would be helpful and a few more items of cutlery...teaspoons, butter knives, but otherwise well equipped for 2 people.

Host was quick to respond to questions and came over to help with problem using Netflix. Unit was clean and usually quiet but sometimes noise transferred from the main house. Laundry was by request only and limited to one load per week. Kitchen sink quite small and fridge was bar size. Wide variety of appliances available. Bed was very comfortable.

There is a picture of a shoreline that needs to be removed because this property is not near the water. They charged for cleaning the room but we had to take out our own garbage after 3 days. We ended up by taking the garbage home with us to put in receptacles that are clearly marked for each category to be separated for organics, paper etc. your garbage cans were not marked. There was no access to cable t.v. to watch our favourite shows or watch the news, like CTV, CNN, Global. There was Netflix and Youtube. That's it. I called the vendor and he never returned my call. I guess he wasn't interested in calling me back. Other than that it was ok but simply not worth returning for a repeat visit for what we paid. This was my first time using VRBO and we were not impressed. I'm not sure if I would use this site again.

We enjoyed our stay at this property which was a separate suite in the house of the owner. It was well maintained and clean and in a nice quiet area with beautiful homes and yards. We felt at home and the owner was friendly and helpful. We would stay at this property again in the future.
