Seaside Hideaway w Hottub in Mussel Shoals

You're just steps from a serene, sandy beach and a world-class surf break at this Ventura getaway. This ground floor unit has all the designer touches and includes a beautiful, spacious deck with a BBQ to whip up a tasty meal and a hot tub for relaxing after long days at the beach. This coastal retreat features a modern, breezy great room with an updated kitchen and views of the Pacific Ocean. It's the perfect place to experience Southern California living.
THE SPACE:
PRIMARY BEDROOM- The primary bedroom has a king sized bed and a closet to hang your clothes.
2ND BEDROOM- The second bedroom has a queen sized bed and a closet to hang your clothes.
BATHROOM- There is one bathroom in the unit. The bathroom is located in the hall outside the two bedrooms. It has a tub shower, sink and toilet. There is also an outside shower for you to use after the beach or hot tub. The bathroom comes stocked with towels, body wash, shampoo and conditioner.
LIVING ROOM- The living room is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the breeze from the sliding glass doors. The living room has a cozy couch and a TV that has the ability to stream Netflix and other streaming services.
DINING ROOM- The dining table is in the kitchen and seats 4 people. There is also a large dining table on the outside patio that can seat 6-8 people
THE KITCHEN- Cook up some delicious meals in the open kitchen. The kitchen is stocked with cups, plates, pots and pans and all the basics for your cooking needs. There is a drip coffee pot with complimentary Starbucks coffee and half and half.
GARAGE- The garage is shared with the upstairs unit. This is where the laundry is located. We don’t provide laundry detergent but if you see some in the garage, feel free to use it. In the garage there are beach chairs, umbrellas and toys for you to use. Please keep the garage door closed when not in use.
WIFI - The home is set up with high speed Wi-Fi. The password is in the Welcome Book in the unit.
BEACH GEAR- The house is located close to the beach so we are happy to provide our guests with towels, umbrellas, beach chairs and toys. Towels are in the living room and chairs and toys are in the garage.
PARKING- There are two parking spaces directly in front of the garage for you to use. The rest of the driveway is for the Penthouse unit.
Hot Tub- The hot tub is private for your use. The upstairs guests can not use the hot tub. Heads up: A few of the jets are currently broken in the hot tub and we are waiting to see if they are able to be repaired or not.

EARLY OR LATE CHECKOUT?
If we can accommodate an early or late check out, we charge a $75 fee. Please check with us in advance for an early check in or late check out.
DO YOU ALLOW LUGGAGE DROP-OFF OR CAR PARKING FOR EARLY ARRIVALS OR LATE DEPARTURES?
No, we cannot be responsible for your personal belongings or have our cleaning crew interrupted while preparing the house.
HOW CLOSE IS THE BEACH?
The home is a block from the beach. To the left are tide pools and a surf break. To the right, in front of the homes, is a sandy beach.
CAN WE BRING PETS?
Sorry we do not allow pets at the home. The owners have severe allergies to animals and it poses a threat to their health. Please reach out to Stay SB if you have any questions.
DO WE HAVE THE WHOLE HOUSE TO OURSELVES?
This building is a duplex. There is a 3 bedroom unit upstairs. Only shared area is the garage. They don't have access to the patio or hot tub. Please don’t venture up the pink spiral staircase.
WHY DONT YOU COLLECT SECURITY DEPOSIT?
As part of our effort to help you relax and enjoy your stay, we have partnered with Safely to provide you with insurance protection. The cost of this protection has been included in your rental rate and fees and covers you for accidental damages during your stay. For more information please reach out to us and we would be more than happy to provide more details on the coverage.
FREEWAY CONSTRUCTION:
The freeways in Santa Barbara & to Ventura are under construction. Some exits and entrances that are used to go North may be intermittently closed/opened without notice. Please check maps to confirm route when trying to go north on the freeway for closures.
ELECTRIC CARS:

There is a tesla charger in the garage. Please close garage if using.
SAFETY & CAMERAS:
We have 2 cameras on the driveway as well as sound monitoring device in the living room and on patio. These do not record sound but only make sure sounds do not go over a certain decibel (to prevent parties). The cameras are only accessed if an issue occurs

I purposely noted in my booking that we were staying SPECIFICALLY for the hot tub and I needed to be sure it worked. It didn't work, and they knew this way ahead of time. The only thing that worked was the heat and 4 of the 50+ jets in the tub on the back wall where you couldn't even sit. It was also filthy, full of some sort of hair - probably a dog, and sand all over the bottom. They came the second day we were there, under the pretense of looking at the hot tub, but all they did was wipe up the dog hair we strained from the water and left on the tub, and dumped more chlorine into it, which only resulted in a nasty slick extra foaming on the surface of the water. Owners knew the tub wasn't working when I booked, said nothing because they knew once I got there it would be too late. I know this because they admitted they knew a "few" jets weren't functioning. Only 4 out of 50+ jets working is not a "few" dysfunctional jets. That is more than 90% of the tub not working. Then they tried to use the excuse that we were there "right after the high season" ... so I guess somehow it's our fault for being dumb enough to book a beach house after the "high season"??? All replies to my complaints were polite and given same day, however it was just a series of polite "We're sorry you're disappointed, but it's not our fault, we hope you enjoyed your stay and will come again". :-/ Don't book if you want the tub. Area is isolated. Permanent neighbors are rude.

Everything was wonderful. The location is terrific for the ez beach access, a short walk to wonderful Cliff House restaurant and many things to do, see, eat in Summerland and close by towns. The property was very comfortable and has wonderful views, amenities. Would definitely stay again. Management was veryy

Very cute and comfortable place to stay, snuggled in between Santa Barbara and Ventura with lots of surrounding areas to check out in either direction. The best part was opening the sliding door and hearing the waves crash. The hot tub was nice way to end the day as well.

Perfectly appointed property with everything we needed and a great location. The boyfriend surfed during the day while I worked. Caught sunrise and sunsets and enjoyed the hot tub.

My mom and I really enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfy! Very clean, the kitchen was ready for whatever you wanted to do. Instructions are clear and simply. We were so close to the sea. It was literally around the corner. Could not really see it but loved listening to the waves at night. We have no complaints but if we could change anything it would to put something on the bathroom window. We literally people watch while showering. Lastly the photos of the front room are accurate BUT at night we didn't realize there was nothing to cover them at night. I would clearly state there is nothing on those glass walls at any time. Prudes like us kept watching the windows of surrounding houses to see if they could see up. We never felt comfortable walking in the main room without being fully dressed. That is not a complaint, just a opinion. :) I hope we can come back. I slept soooo good. thank you for being great hosts

This property was private , very clean and well maintained, nicely furnished and appointed with all essentials. The hot tub was great and the outside table with cafe lights was charming. We enjoyed daily walks on the beach which was very enjoyable!

We loved our stay. The apartment was perfect for my family- clean and modern. We enjoyed the deck and especially the hot tub. Plenty of towels and linens provided. We felt safe and secure. Highly recommend!
