Didn’t receive notification that the pool AND the restaurant would not be available for the duration of my stay until the night before my check-in. The pool was closed in October for renovations but was not contacted until the night before check-in in December.
The location is great, and I’m sure things will be better once anticipated reno’s are completed. Bar was VERY loud every night especially between 1-2am, so much so that you could sing along with the music. Only night they are closed is Sundays (plus Christmas Eve & Christmas Day).
Elevators were packed with only 3 family members with suitcases and extremely slow. Lodgers need to tap key inside elevator to activate the lift, which wasn’t explained to some clients who had to be rescued a time or two.
Front desk was always busy with a lineup but it was over Christmas and there was lots of activity with tours, car rentals and customer service.
I loved the location. Nice walk to Chinatown, Gastown & downtown amenities. Approved pickup location for various local tour operators, negating the issue of having to walk somewhere to meet connecting transfers.
Overall, would recommend but be aware of buildings deficits that are not advertised. Looking forward to going back once renovations are completed.
