Worst experience, not what we hoped for. When we arrived, the vessel smelled cigarette smoke and the bathroom sink leaked every time it was turned on. We reported both issues right away, not because they ruined the stay for us, but so we would not be blamed. We also made it clear that we were fine working around the problems since the trip was meant to be short and simple.Things became uncomfortable when the owner entered the property without any notice to fix the issues. We were never informed that anyone would be inside, which felt unsafe, especially since our dogs were there and crated. At some point, one of our dogs had defecated and peed in their crate. We are still not sure when it happened, but the owner probably knows since they were clearly inside the property while we were gone.The location is remote and peaceful, but that peace disappears when you realize someone has entered without notice. It also made us question how the owner knew we were not there as my wife's car was still there.The situation worsened when the owner later sent me a personal PayPal request for payment outside of the VRBO and Evolve systems and to a payment method I did not use to book. This felt unprofessional and raised trust concerns.
