"Our stay surpassed expectations. Check in was friendly and very professional. Everything was covered by the receptionist. The room was spacious and fresh - the bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning worked well and was much appreciated in the heatwave! Breakfast was plentiful and a small choice of cooked breakfast was on offer - all piping hot! "Highly recommend to stay at Cromwell’s Tap House. It’s located in the heart of Shrewsbury, at walking distance of pretty much everything in town. Only 7 minutes from the train station. The rooms were located on the first floor above the pub. We heard no noise whatsoever, and only in the morning we heard some cars go by, but it was of no nuisance to us. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and there were a lot of amenities like a hairdryer, coffee, tea, and towels. The linen were also...

"We loved our stay at the Ancient Gatehouse. The room was lovely and looked out over the green in front of the Wells Cathedral. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel has an excellent Italian restaurant, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner before walking around the lovely town of Wells. Americans should know it is not air conditioned, but air conditioning is rare in the UK and Europe. There is a fan and lovely large windows. We will definitely return."

"Excellent stay , room lovely all staff were so friendly and helpful ! Breakfast very nice , no complaints at all it was 30 degrees when we stayed ,room was very warm but a fan was provided without us needing to ask . There is free parking but wd parked at the ncp which is literally across the road ."

"What has made this beautiful historic place so wonderful is the staff.They have made our stay so very enjoyable. They have gone above and beyond with the quality of service we received. We will be back and if you haven't been to the Prince Rupert Hotel , we highly recommend that you do if you want a first class experience. "

"Great location. Inviting exterior. Friendly welcome. Compact but comfortable room with everything you could need, including a good fan, hairdryer and iron. Breakfast was delicious, cooked to order and served with a smile. Absolutely could not fault anything about our stay and would definitely recommend "
