"Our family of four stayed for two nights and used this as a home base for a skiing at White Grass, tubing at Canaan Valley Resort, and hiking at Blackwater Falls State Park. The home was well-appointed, and the hosts were very welcoming... they live right next door and are available to help if needed. The home is full lovely antique furniture and was very comfortable for us. Love that they are dog friendly!"

"The Fox Den met all our needs. It was clean, comfortable and had great indoor and outdoor living spaces. It was located in Thomas, within walking distance of the downtown area. Davis was just two miles South, with another fun shopping/dining area, and the local Shop & Save. Our plans involved hiking the state high peaks of MD and WV, and The Fox Den was very convenient. "We are graduates of the FBI National Academy. Each year they host a “training” at Camp Dawson in Kingwood, WV for police officers who have attended the academy. We’ve been attending these events for over 25 years. Staying at Alpine is always a treat. Your house was extremely nice and totally comfortable for four old men! We would certainly recommend it to others."

"I was not too pleased staying at this location. As I drove up (9pm) there was very poor lighting and the check in area had no signage. I tried to drive to the other side of the building to find the entrance. The signage to find my room was not clearly marked. I went up and down several staircases and hallways in order to find my room. I also took a few stairwells which were dirty and smelled badly. Two stairwells had broken mini refrigerators just lying on the landings. The room was...

"Great size and quiet location. We must have been the first guests of the spring season however. The hot water was totally shut off. Very prompt response from the resort maintence crew in the morning got it turned on quickly."
