Custom 2 Bedroom Casita On a Ridge

Lovely, private guest house with stunning views of two converging mountain ranges (the Catalinas and Rincons). Located very close to Sabino Canyon and the Canyon Ranch. This private 4-room house is custom, on 2 levels and comfortably furnished. It has high ceilings and big rooms. There is a full-sized eat-in kitchen with regular-sized appliances. The living room has great views and comfy seating for 4. A fully stocked library, a smart TV, videos and Includes Wifi. The bathroom including the shower is all done in natural slate (definitely is on the small side). The two bedrooms are very comfortable and have some of the most exceptional views in Arizona.

It is a great location for someone who wants to experience the best of the Tucson's nature and not be far from great activities and restaurants. Access the Canyon Ranch trail to the Sabino creek for an easy hike. Don't be surprised if you see some wildlife prancing by your window as well.

When it is hot out go for a morning swim - the use of the pool is at your disposal and right out your side door (in season - sorry not heated). (Please note: Although you can use the jetted spa it too comes unheated. The option of making it a hot tub is available at my cost of $25 per 4 hour session).The pool is shared with the main house but there usually is limited overlap. Easy parking right out the front door. Generously-sized kitchen with full-sized oven and side by side refrigerator. Right out on the kitchen patio is a gas barbeque so you can grill to your heart's content.

I respectfully decline all requests to use the house/pool for parties, weddings, family reunions etc. It is not suited for special events. Please be forthcoming about number guests and their ages. Because of the pool no one under 5 years old is allowed. Due to wear and tear on the house I hold to the maximum capacity numbers.

Minimal activity in the main house - across the yard - allows you to do your own thing in peace. In a gated community with spacious properties. Lots of serenity and privacy.

good, not great bang for buck, since the hot tub is an additional charge every 4 hours, and its not quite as described. The kitchen is well stocked and the casita is well furnished, the beds are very comfortable, although one is a Murphy bed. The views are spectacular, it overlooks the east part of the desert you can watch the sunrise from the patio (or the hot tub-if you pay to have it on). There were plenty of towels and bathrobes, the art is beautiful and the library is well stocked-I recognized a well traveled and read individual had curated this place. The couches were comfortable and we could see the Catalina mountains from the living room. There is no washer dryer, and theres a set of deep short steps from the upper level to the lower bedrooms that werent mentioned, that were annoying, especially at night. The bathroom was good, but the shower has a built in slate basin thats 14 inches from the counter base, the toilet is behind that, its a tight fit in there, so there were lots of stubbed toes and caught feet on that. The driveway is really steep and tight, pulling in and out of it was do-able but a big hassle. Something I noticed generally; there are a lot of ledges and drop offs, and steep areas around here, especially around the pool the patio and edges of the house (makes sense, it is on a cliff) this isnt somewhere an older person or young kids would be safe staying-that wasn't a problem for us this trip, but id have worried about a toddler or grandma here.

Athena’s home is truly a hidden gem! My best friend and I wanted a peaceful place to relax between wedding events in town and this home exceeded our expectations. Every detail of the home felt curated. The home brought us peace as we enjoyed watching the sunrise/sunset as well as the wildlife go by (coyote, road runner, tortoise, and birds) while we sipped on coffee or wine. The pool was amazing with the perfect view of the canyon. I can’t recommend this place enough and would love to come back again someday!

Even better than described

Quiet, well-equiped kitchen, perfect location. Super nice sitting areas outside - private and shade/sun choices, and an outside grill with sink! The property next door is under construction, and we were lucky they weren't doing anthing noisy, but you should ask the friendly host Tina about the state of this project. You might like to know in advance that both beds have memory foam toppers (though not the really deep kind that I find uncomfortable). It would have been nice to have at least one small bar of good old soap available in addition to the many liquid soap options. Heating the hot tub was extra, but I feel this is appropriate for energy conservation, and we just let Tina know a few hours in advance. I would stay here again as the peaceful evening and stunning views from the sitting area are amazing.

Athena was quick to respond. Unfortunately the good location of this guest house, nice small pool and patio with views didn't make up for the tiny bathroom, hard concrete, dirty looking floors, sagging living room furniture (the TV was fine) and the laundry across the driveway in a garage. The bed was fine. We were happy to leave.

Athena is an amazingly welcoming host who also protects her guests’ privacy. The casita is more spacious than it first appears, and is clean, lovely and well-stocked. Last but not least, the view and the pool make this little getaway the complete package! Would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic

The views from this casita cannot be beat. The property has lovely outdoor spaces that are private from the main house. The owner is always available but not intrusive. It is fully stocked with ample dishes, silverware and even a rice cooker. The beds are comfortable. We loved the whole month.

Breathtaking Views & Outstanding Accommodations

We felt very welcomed upon arrival with all the little added touches. The pictures don't do it justice. Warm and cozy decor with lots of comforts. Beds were comfy. The bathroom was a little small but very adequate. Tall ceilings gave you a spacious feel. This house was nice and clean and well stocked too. Tina, the host was darling as well. We will be coming back again for sure.

Spacious Retreat

Easily accessible and spacious fully appointed home on the ridge. The large kitchen was perfect for food preparation and visiting. We had a great time viewing the wildlife. We saw deer, coyotes and javelina. The walking trail just steps outside the door was a great opportunity to enjoy the amazing winter weather. Athena was very helpful and a gracious host! Highly recommend this home.

Great weekend getaway!

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful casita. The view will blow you away! Everything you could possibly need is provided, and we enjoyed using the pool and hot tub and admiring the day views and spectacular night time views. The stars were amazing! Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was well stocked and had all the comforts of home. The view is amazing! The location is just minutes from the Sabino Canyon Recreation area where we enjoyed hiking. We would definitely return!

Gorgeous Casitas
