This Tahoe Donner beauty in Truckee offers comfort and convenience for large groups seeking a relaxing home base and extra amenities like three shared pools, hot tub, sauna, tennis, and more. There's also a jetted tub in the primary bath, an extra sitting room, and a deck overlooking the golf course. A high chair, crib, and playroom are available for those traveling with little ones.

The Tahoe Donner community also offers a downhill ski area ideal for kids and beginners, with more challenging skiing available nearby at Sugar Bowl (12 miles) and Northstar (15 miles). There's also an equestrian center and cross-country ski center, close to Coyote Moon golf course. Donner Lake is five miles away with a beach, boat launch, watercraft rentals, and more. Hiking trails abound, and downtown Truckee is six miles away.

Things to Know
The use of Tahoe Donner HOA facilities requires additional daily fees.
Following the Tahoe Donner HOA agreements, gatherings of people not renting the home are not allowed. Authorities will be notified if there is a party or large gathering in the home.
No excessive noise and/or trash
All exterior lights must be turned off between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am, seven days a week

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 4 vehicles.

Dock details: There is a private dock at the Tahoe Donner Marina. Please bring your guest access cards. A of $20 per person per day applies to guests over the age of 7. Public docks are located along Donner Lake on Donner Pass Road.

Please note: this home resides in a noise-sensitive area and the owners participate in our Good Neighbor protection program. Our smart home technology will alert our team if excessive decibel or occupancy levels are detected, allowing us to reach out directly with a reminder of maximum occupancy and quiet hours. This technology is privacy compliant, and only monitors the presence of decibels and devices-not any personal conversation or information. Thank you for supporting our efforts to be good neighbors!

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Great House!

We actually loved this house and will return. It had a good selection of bedrooms and beds so we could arrange family groups and find quiet spots for naps. The toy room was a great bonus! We were there on an unusually hot weekend and didn't know there was no air conditioning, so if you go when it's hot, take fans. It probably isn't extremely hot too often, but the July nights were very hot this year. There are two main categories that could use improvement. (1) Please make it clear that the Tahoe Donner member privileges are only partly available to guests (renters). We could use the Marina Beach Club for a hefty price, but the swimming pool reservations were much more limited, not just by covid, and difficult to obtain. There would have been a hefty price for these as well. (2) The kitchen was adequate, but the utensils, pots, and bowls seemed furnished by a clearance table at Goodwill. Chairs at the table were a little wobbly. Come on, this is a high end rental! One last thing, we did not find the advertised crib.

Pod vacay in Truckee

Hi. We arrived and there was no key in the padlock and the garage door also didn’t open. So a nuisance upon arriving. Called VRBO several times to get support. We eventually did get the door open. Inside the beds were comfortable and the kitchen very well supplied with utensils, etc. Some items could use updating, including the pots. The overall decor could also use some updating. The location was great and it was near to all of our winter activities.

Snow peak Tahoe

We love hiking so we decided to take a little vacation to Lake Tahoe. We decided to rent this cabin to have a great experience with my family but sadly it was the opposite. As soon as we got the cabin we noticed a big hole on the Porch, I took pictures and contacted the property management i got told it was going to be takem care ASAP and it never happened. The next day my 10 year old son went to get his backpack out of the car and forgot about the hole and he tripped he sprained hisankle and cut his knee. My son couldn't stand up or even put weight on his leg that totally ruined our whole trip. We tried contacging the property management but no one answered. We couldn't enjoy our trip and had to spend the whole trip takimg care of my son because the whole never got fixed.

Overall nice and comfy place for a large family. Enough space and beds for a family of 12 with two young children too.

Great space

We absolutely loved staying here with our family. There were some issues with the fireplace not being cleaned, but the property manager immediately sent someone to clean it. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was nice and open for all of us. I wish they had more basic kitchen spices and needs, but we just went to the store to get them. Most of the vacation rentals we rent usually provide coffee or tea so we just left ours there. Overall, we loved the space, not too far from the ski resorts, and supermarket, and great backyard space and privacy. We will definitely stay again.

Holiday stay

Second time gathering family here. Great layout for groups with kids - room for teens to find own space, play space for children, room for all to gather as well. Wooded space in back feels like in open space & large windows allow kids to play "independently" while being supervised. Nice size kitchen, though some small appliances didn't work & dishwasher didn't clean well & left us cleaning dishes by hand. Fridge needed to be wiped down when we arrived as well. Very cozy feel for a large cabin. Very little reception for phones/ computers - though it wasn't a big issue as we wanted an excuse to lay devices down. All in all, it's a beautiful property that needs a little TLC & maybe supervising housekeeping a bit more. All agreed we like to return.

Loved it and great for a big group!

We absolutely loved this place. We arrived right as a winter storm hit and we loved the coziness of just resting in the house. We arrived with 2 other families and we had PLENTY of room for 5 adults and 5 children under 10 to enjoy themselves. The house is spacious and comfortable and has a great feeling. You could feel the love of grandparents all around the place. We'll be coming back!

Great Labor Day getaway

Our family had a great time in Truckee at this Tahoe Donner home. We were 6 adults and 2 children (ages 6&4). The home was perfect. We could have had several more people and still been comfortable. The area was beautiful, there was plenty to do or, just relax in the surroundings.

perfect little get away

Staying in this cabin was extremely fun. it is very spacious! my fiance and i enjoyed our stay with our friends and family. Be careful if you have to any lights on the power will shut off. All in all it was a wonderful ,memorial day weekend.

Lovely, spacious, well-equipped home

Our family of eight stayed for a ski week; the home was lovely, decorated with teddy bears, and very comfortable. We especially appreciated the family-friendly touches, such as a high chair for the dining room and step stools for the bathrooms. The kitchen is large and exceedingly well-equipped; the dining table is large and comfortable for family-style meals; the warm nook near the kitchen became a favorite reading spot. The garage provided plenty of storage for ski gear. We would gladly stay at this lovely home again!

Lovely home, property management team needs work

This is a gorgeous, spacious home with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Very comfortable and convenient. My critique is for the property management team. There was virtually no soap in the house- one small bar in one bathroom and dish soap in the kitchen. Several lightbulbs were out. When we arrived, we found the downstairs master bedroom carpet soaking wet from an obvious leak in the window and the room reeking of mildew. We immediately called the number on the info sheet and while they sent someone the next day to scrape some of the ice away from the window ( a short term fix so the dripping would stop) nothing has been done to address the really huge, wet, moldy carpet mess. We didn’t need that room/bathroom so simply closed it off but it will be a real problem for the homeowners and could have been better handled earlier. But the house itself was a really beautiful, comfortable family home that more than accommodated our 2 families- even without the master bedroom and bath!
