Restful Cottage For 4 On Lake George Near Traverse Cit

  • Here is a quiet cottage that sleeps four nestled in the woods on tranquil, beautiful Lake George, a small lake situated between Arbutus Lake and Spider Lake. It is only 12 miles SE from downtown Traverse City, 9 miles from the airport. Access to the cottage is off a paved road. If you are looking for a place to rest and relax, this is it.

    While Lake George is a non-wake, trolling motor only lake with no public access, both Spider and Arbutus Lakes offer public boat launches for anyone with a boat and trailer. Also, it is just 8 miles to a boat launch on East Bay part of beautiful Grand Traverse Bay. For those who like hiking, several trails are nearby as well as being located near the Vasa Trail used in both winter and summer for biking and skiing. And kayaking, canoeing and tubing are possible on the Boardman River only 3 miles away. If you visit in the winter, snow mobile trails are within two miles as well as wonderful cross country or snowshoeing trails.

    The cottage has two bedrooms and one bathroom. There is a queen size bed in one room and a double bed in the second bedroom. Enjoy a meal on the deck overlooking the lake. At night use the fire pit for roasting marshmallows or cooking hot dogs. The cottage is furnished with linens, blankets, dishes, coffee pot, toaster and cookware. There is a stove, refrigerator and it is air conditioned. Bring your camera as you may enjoy deer, raccoon's, squirrels and birds.

    Located with permanent residences nearby, there are quiet hours after 10:00 pm. There is a hill down to the cottage and steps down to the lake where there is a dock. No fireworks are allowed.

Our vacation getaway

This was a very quiet and relaxing location. We enjoy the scenery and fishing on the lake. It is just the right distance to places in town to visit and shop, as well as restaurants. We plan on staying here again.

Sweet place to relax

The cottage is cute and perfect for a relaxing get-away. It’s nice to be on a lake without motors, you can really enjoy peaceful nature sounds. And it is so close to all that Travers City has to offer!

Great peaceful getaway spot

This was the perfect spot for my family of four - quiet and peaceful but close enough to the city and beaches. Everything is in great shape in the house and very clean. Nice little lake good for fishing, kayaking, paddle boating and swimming (ground is mucky but it's fine). Would definitely recommend for a couple or small family looking to get away.

The perfect weekend getaway

The property was excellent we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The scenery and atmosphere around the cottage this time of year is top notch. Susan the owner was easy to reach for the few questions we had. We will definitely be returning to this property in the future.

Cabin was lovely and the lake frontage was where spent every day. The fishing early morning off the dock was very active. Caught enough blue gill for dinner one evening. We would recommend for a low key getaway.

This is a cute, cozy cottage on Lake George which is a quiet little lake that doesn't allow motors (exactly what we wanted). It's just a short walk down the hill from the parking area to the cottage, and another short walk down the stairs to the dock. There is a rowboat, a paddleboat, and 2 kayaks (just bail the boats out with a bucket, clean them off and they are ready to go), The stars in the night sky were amazing. The neighbors are friendly. The beds are comfy and the water pressure is good.

Cute Cottage

Very nice cottage, well supplied kitchen and very clean. We enjoyed using the aluminum boat for fishing and the kayak. The lake has no public access and is on the small side, so no speeding boats or jet skis makes for a quiet place to relax. Big deck and many stairs down the dock at the lake. We hope to return next year.

Private Retreat and Responsive Host

This property was wonderful! It was private with so many extras. We had two 15yr old boys with us that loved the boats/kayaks. My husband and I enjoyed the closeness to Traverse City. Susan responded quickly when we had trouble checking in and gave us nearby restaurant and grocery store recommendations. I would recommend 10/10!

All is well.

This property was very well maintained. The owner was called and it was solved immediately. Our only problem, a blocked main in the bathroom, was taken care of within two hours.
