Betsie River Cabin provides a cozy getaway with a secluded wooded setting and easy access to many of Northern Michigan’s favorite attractions. It has been designed to provide a true “Up North” getaway for groups of up to 8 people. Each bedroom can comfortably sleep up to 4 guests with the convenience of separate bathrooms. The cabin is perfect for both family retreats and outdoor adventure seekers while providing modern amenities such as Wi-Fi and a smart TV. This all-season cabin features air conditioning (installed July 2025), outdoor hot tub, rustic wood interior, wood stove, washer and dryer, basement recreation room with a ping pong table, and ample parking.

During your stay, guests can admire the natural beauty of the Betsie River from the deck and hot tub or relax by the campfire. Launch a canoe from the backyard; enjoy prime trout, salmon, and steelhead fishing as part of your stay. A convenient fish cleaning station is provided for your use. Skiing (downhill and cross-country), golf, and mountain bike trails can be enjoyed at Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa, located only minutes away.

Betsie River Cabin (formerly known as Nasha Hata) changed ownership in late 2017. This property has been a favorite for guests for many years, receiving numerous positive reviews, comments, and feedback. The current owners are excited to continue the legacy of providing guests with enjoyable and memorable stays.

Cottage Amenities: Radiant Heat with an independent thermostat under master bedroom tile floor.

Fully equipped kitchen: dishwasher, refrigerator with freezer, electrical stove, coffee maker, microwave, convection oven, silverware, toaster and cooking utensils.

A gas grill is provided.

A washer and clothes dryer are provided on the main floor.

Smart TV in the living room with basic DISH, DVD player, board games, and a choice of favorite movies.

A canoe is included with your cottage rental.

Wood is provided for the wood stove and outdoor fire pit free of charge.

Linens and paper products are furnished.

Ping-pong table in the basement rec room

Area activities and attractions: Skiing - Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa just 4 minutes away.

Fishing – Betsie River is prime for trout and salmon fishing. In this area the Betsie River is a DNR type 4 stream with trout open all year long.

Golfing – a variety of golf courses nearby.

Canoeing/kayaking – start at the cottage, end at a convenient downstream landing.

Biking – the 22 mile long Betsie Valley Trail offers fantastic riding, extending from Thompsonville to Frankfort.

Hunting & Morel mushrooming on state forests within a few minutes drive.

Snowmobiling – easy access to 300 miles of trails.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore – 30 minutes away.

Casino – Little River Casino in Manistee – 25 minutes away.

Attractions for Kids: The area offers plenty of attractions for children: fishing, tubing, swimming pool and water park at Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa, guided ATV tours, beautiful Lake Michigan Beaches, Sleeping Bear Dunes climbing, bike trails, and skiing in the winter.

Exceptional Stay

My group of friends stayed in the cabin for a girls weekend getaway and it was absolutely perfect. The cabin was very clean and had all the ammenities that we needed. The owners were wonderful hosts. They checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed and to see if there were any issues. They even provided information on activities within the area and the river. Highly suggest spending time on the Betsie river, it was beautiful and relaxing, we even enjoyed the canoe.

Nice private location

We had a few glitches with our stay. It was super hot and one of the bedrooms only windows was broken so there was no ventilation. This rooms ceiling fan was wobbly and noisy and the oscillating fan was broken. The main bedroom was comfortable without any issues. The living room and kitchen were also nice and spacious. The deck off of the living room was very dirty as was the outside furniture. The cover for the hot tub is super heavy so it was a bit of a struggle to open. We also had to sweep and clean the deck around it.

Such a pleasant stay

If you're wanting something close to Crystal Mountain, but not stuck in the middle of the crowd... this is it! A hot tub, plenty of beds, a wood-burning stove to dry out gloves and ski boots after a day on the hills are all perfect ways to relax. This is our third consecutive year booking at this property for a reason.

Birthday party snowboard trip

Overall, it was a fantastic place to stay. This was a surprise birthday trip for my girlfriend and her friends which included two other couples. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money, but also know that my girlfriend enjoys the finer things in life, so I know it needed to be nice. I was slightly worried about her not thinking the house was nice enough, but once you step foot in this adorable and extremely clean and homey feeling Cabin, those worries went out the door. You’re greeted with a beautiful view of the Betsy River from a large sliding glass door with a fireplace. We were both pleasantly surprised. The pictures actually don’t do the inside justice. It’s about 15 minutes to Crystal Mountain and 10 to 20 minutes away from most restaurants. We had a tiny bit of trouble getting a fire started simply because there was no kindling and not enough newspaper to start it up, but after some efforts, we got it going. The hot tub was beautiful and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen was extremely clean and inviting. My girlfriend was impressed and it was a perfect place to stay. My only negative point would be that although it sleeps eight, there are only two bedrooms. If you have more than two couples that would like privacy, they may have to sleep on the couch. Would definitely rent again! I also would recommend the iron fish to eat dinner, however, their drinks are elaborate and have have everything in the kitchen mixed in. Order something simple if you have a sensitive pall.

We enjoyed the beautiful wooded scenery and sitting by the river. Could use an update on some of the supplies including linens, towels, and blankets. Someone is probaly not updating the owner of these things. Guest book has been full for severql years.

Nature Retreat

My friends and i stayed at Betsie Cabin for Labor Day weekend and had an amazing time. Eating by the campfire, playing ping pong in the game room, and relaxing next to nature was something we city boys needed. Would definitely recommend!
