"A beautiful setting directly on Tissa lake. The lobby opens out straight onto the garden and pool. Our room had opening sliding doors allowing an unhindered views of the lake. Hundreds of birds coming and going and there is an amazing twilight sight as the fruit bats leave the island for the night. Nice local area and an easy walk along the lakeside into town for the night. Food and service was great."

"We had a wonderfully relaxing few days. The staff were friendly and helpful and the meals were most enjoyable. Our room was immaculately clean and the water was hot. It was lovely to be able to sit out on a balcony and read. The manager arranged a great safari to Bandula National Park and provided us with a very tasty breakfast to take with us. "The Chaarya Resort and Spa is a gorgeous hotel set in a beautiful palm tree lined property. They have a very refreshing pool, a cool outdoor bar, pool table, games area, gym and spa facilities. "Had trouble at first with staff saying booking didnt go through so had to contact hotels via X to sort out. The one staff was a great guy, so freindly and helpful, i was in the area to visit national park and he arranged this for me. Only problem with hotel is internet did not work, and no phone reception in that area either. "

"We used the hotels as a base for a safari tour and it was an ideal base. The location is great, being a short walk (1500m) out of Tissa. Lake Wind Resort is a beautiful heritage building that has had life injected again by new management. The team could not have been more helpful and attentive. "This was a great value. It is a beautiful property right by the river. The foliage is superb and the staff work tirelessly to keep the grounds clear of plant droppings. The only negative was the WIFI which try as they might it never worked consistently. "

"Vi brugte hotellet som base for en safari i Yala National Park. Stedet er familiedrevet og med en meget hjælpsom og omsorgsfuld ejerinde. Vores værelse havde udsigt over rismarkerne, hvor der altid var aktivitet, både af mennesker, dyr og fugle. Stedet er rustikt men med alle nødvendige faciliteter i god stand. "basic guesthouse with 5 rooms and a communal room. bed was alright and came with clean bathroom. recommended to pay extra for the air con (which didn’t seem available as an option during booking) as it was really hot when we visited and the room was stuffy after awhile.
