Canyon Wren Cottage, a True Couples Retreat

  • A couples’ retreat, the Canyon Wren Cottage is sculpted into bedrock amongst pinion pines and old growth mountain mahogany brush. A picturesque erosion sculpted sandstone monolith rises four stories at the edge of the yard, just beyond the cottage. The approach to the cottage from Teasdale Road, is down a short lane crossing through woodland fringed meadow with a wetland on one side and alfalfa cultivation on the other. The backdrop is beautiful rock form, including a large balanced rock.

This was a very nice VRBO to stay at, very clean and comfortable. It was perfect for my wife and I. The owner did a fantastic job fitting out the house. An enjoyable stay it was!

We would stay here again in a heartbeat! What a treat. So beautiful (including the surrounding scenery), clean, and with a lot of thoughtful touches. The perfect home base for exploring Torrey/Capitol Reef. Hope our next trip out isn’t too far away.

Love the custom finishes and artwork. Location is perfect as is the private setting. We hiked Capitol Reef and relaxed in comfort!

Great basecamp for exploring Capitol Reef and SanRafael Swell. Shops and restaurants for food and essentials are within a short drives distance. House was very clean and well kept. Kitchen had all essentials.

We enjoyed relaxing in this cozy home away from home. We enjoyed the views. We appreciated the uniqueness of this hand crafted and beautifully decorated home.

Very clean, comfortable. Everything you need like home. Easy access to Capitol Reef, Petroglyphs etc. One interesting/unusual note for a review. However, the Bicknell Medical Center is a fully capable facility that professionally treated a severe altitude sickness. In such a remote location, that was well received.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. There was not much communication with the host, so I can't speak to that. We enjoyed the location and privacy. Cozy is the word to use for Canyon Wren. Very nice location to visit Capitol Reef.

Location was amazing! Structure built by owner is beautiful and tasteful, matching the local vibe. Everything about this place was great. Might wanna snake out the sink drains, as they were nearly completely blocked and drained very slowly, but that's minimal stuff, and easily fixed. Shifting back to positivity, this place did not disappoint. Location is CRAZY COOL. I saw a California Condor fly right over the property. Would 100% stay here again.

Stylish, Comfortable, Well Located

Owners have gone the extra mile to make this vacation rental comfortable and attractive with a sophisticated western decorative theme. It is well located for a visit to Capitol Reef National Park and offers a quiet, beautiful location away from the crowds. I'd go back anytime.

Perfect Capitol Reef Base

This really was an ideal property to wake up in and return to after a day of exploring the area. Evenings were peaceful and quiet, mornings bright. We’d definitely stay here again and had nothing about the rental that we’d change.

Christmas Retreat

We enjoyed our stay very much. Such a beautiful abode in a beautiful spot. Loved the art work on the walls, Mother Natures work out the windows and the use of knarly wood inside. Brought along our own Christmas tree. The place was well equipped and comfortable and close to the park.

Beautiful home nestled at rock base

This home is one of a kind. The location right at the base of a wall of rocks is so unique. This was a perfect location for Capital Reef adventures. The property manager was very helpful and responsive. This is a wonderful get away for a couple. Highly recommend this cabin.

I rarely post reviews for homes I've stayed in. This home was so clean and well taken care of that I have to give it a review. The home was well built, in great condition with everything you would need. Did I mention it was clean, lol. Perfect for a couple, will definitely rent this one again.

Amazing weekend getaway

We loved our weekend stay at this property. Great location. Went back and forth to the park numerous times. The inside was clean and was a great set up. I could not complain about anything besides the clutter outside the cabin but that is what country life is about! Cannot wait to come back and stay again! Property Manager was amazing and responed quickly when we had questions.
