Great Service

Exceeded our expectations with a welcoming home that had food supplied for us which was really useful for us!! The owners also helped us get to and from a venue as it was quite hard tasked and without then we simply would not have had such a cool time up in Tauranga ! 100% Reccomend!!

Clare was the perfect host! Their home was the perfect spot for our family to chill and it the space was very private with perfect outlook to gardens and pool. Very well equipped with clean towels on request, everything is here for you and really just feels like home away from home. Thank you so much Clare and family.

Great comfy home

Nice quiet home, on a nice quiet private drive, off a nice quiet road, in a nice quiet neighborhood. The hosts are fantastic ... the perfect hosts. The property is a good for a base of operations when exploring the central part of the north island. There is off-street parking, as the home is down a private driveway. Entrance is around the back, so your living room / dining room opens to a lovely well manicured garden pictured. Every morning, we ate breakfast on the table pictured in the photo. There is a fun nightlife/street dining/restaurant scene a few km away in the beach strip of Touranga. This is an easy drive, or an easy bike ride down the bay-side bike trail. Shawn outlined a fun day, which follows. Bicycle to Mount Maunganui, hike to the 232m top, take in the view; descend the mountain; Swim in the South Pacific; shower at the lifeguard station; have dinner in one of the many restaurants; bicycle home. When you read it, it sounds like 45 minutes, when in truth, its 4-5 ... or more hours. Its a 45 minute drive to Hobbiton; not much more to see hot springs at Rotorua, Waitomo and its glow worm caves, also drive south and east down the coast of the South Pacific to very quiet coastal towns. Or a nice day drive to Coromandel and back.

Great host and stay

The place was roomy, comfortable and stocked with some good bread and great jams. The hosts were friendly and helpful. I was a bit afraid that the place had only a hot plate (2 burners) and a small grill to cook on but I was wrong. They had an electric skillet, toaster, panini maker, water boiler and everything you would need to cook. The owners even offered for us to use their oven if needed. I would tell friends to stay here or come back in the future.

Lovely spot & great hosts

My family and I had a great time staying here. The place was very clean and well equipped, and the hosts were very welcoming but unobtrusive. The kids enjoyed exploring the garden and, despite the owners living upstairs, we absolutely felt like we had our own space and privacy. Very handy location: supermarket just up the road, and only a short drive to both the Mount and city centre.

Awesome!

Claire and Shawn made our stay extra special we can not rate them highly enough. This was a very special trip for our family; three generations travelling from the UK for my youngest son's wedding. The Dawsons set up is immaculate with many extra touches to make any family holiday comfortable and fun. Local guides with hints and recommendations, games, books, breakfast all coming with a pool and privacy. Would definitely recommend them! :)

Great neighbourhood and only 15 mins to town. Great Hosts-very helpful and friendly. We appreciated the fresh fruit, milk, jam, bread and cookies that were provided to us.

Great quiet place to stay with all the comforts of home and more

Property was very clean and presentable. Hosts were very approachable and helpful. Quiet area close to shops and only 5 mins to CBD. Easy access to walks. Beds were comfortable and was added bonus that hosts provided breakfast cereals, milk, bread and spreads. We were left alone and it felt private. Thanks heaps for hosting us, we will come back again! Highly recommend to all.

This was a great place to stay; easy to find, quiet, comfortable and very clean. Clare was a thoughtful, friendly hostess and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed.
