You can walk direct from the front door to the SW Coast Path in under 10 minutes, and also from the house to Winspit and Seacombe - A SHORT DRIVE to the beaches at Swanage and Studland and historic Corfe Castle - Off Road Parking - The perfect property for families and friends - We book flexible dates throughout the year and Friday to Friday in June, July, August and September - beautiful detached architect designed Purbeck Stone family house with off-road parking in an elevated position with panoramic sea views overlooking the magnificent National Trust landscape towards Winspit and the Channel. Children very welcome. Superbly equipped, WiFi, centrally heated, 5 comfortable bedrooms. The house has sea views to treasure, you can gaze at the moonlight on the sea and watch the sunlight sparkle on the waves. In winter the sun rises out of the sea. Situated in sought after Worth Matravers, the most desirable sea village with world class walking on the doorstep, the beautiful family friendly sandy beaches of Swanage and Studland are a short few minutes' drive away.     CLEANING FEE IS BASED ON THE PROPERTY BEING LEFT IN THE CONDITION YOU FOUND THE HOUSE ON ARRIVAL. We take great care with our Covid Cleaning program. Lovely experience.

5 friends holidaying together. Compass Cottage was clean warm and very well stocked we had a wonderful week. Our host Wendy was very helpful book in was simple we would definitely stay there again.

The perfect place in the perfect location for a family get away.

Compass cottage is a lovely house and my family and I really enjoyed our stay. The view from the house was amazing, and we went on so many walks with even more amazing views. It was the relaxing get together time we were all looking for.

Amazing New Year

A group of 9 friends stayed at this great house for 4 nights over New Year. Fantastic location with amazing views. The communication with the owner was excellent. More than adequate facilities for our needs with lots of information about the house etc. We all had a great time and would highly recommend.

Charming and comfortable

The property was well equipped particularly in the kitchen. Overall cleanliness good. Social areas are excellent for large family groups. Beds very comfortable. The village is lovely and cottage is in a peaceful setting but close enough to explore area's of interest. Cottage manager very helpful. All in all a very good autumn get-away.

Family get together by the sea

Beautiful location. Very well equipped house. Comfortable beds, nice linen and towels. Enough fridge space. Only thing was for 2 bathrooms and 9 people the hot water system was not quite sufficient. A couple of electric showers would have helped a lot.

Long weekend at Compass Cottage

We had a lovely stay at Compass Cottage and we were blessed with lovely weather too. Good accomodation for 5 friends, nice and sociable and plenty of seating/space in the lounge. Everything you need and a lovely sea view. One minor point - a little bit of overkill on all the notices left round the house - would be better kept all in one folder. There were so many it put me off reading them!

Fantastic House

the house was perfect our a work team of 7. The flexibility of the bedrooms was amazing as we could have some of the beds split into twin beds. Fantastic living room with lots of space. Thoughtful Welcome Pack was also available there when we arrived. Everything we could possibly need was in the kitchen and simple instructions for things that we needed to know. Beautiful walks literally across the road. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Absolutely Perfect

We had a group of 8 staying and up to 11 for dinner. The house was perfect and unbelievably well stocked. The owner was fantastic - making sure we arrived safely, the welcome gifts, Xmas trees all up. While the weather was wet and windy it did not stop us hiking the wonderful Jurassic coast path. Absolutely brilliant stay and cannot recommend this property highly enough. PS don't try and go up and down the steps at Houns Tout in 50 mph winds, calf deep mud and heavy rain. Terrifying!

Fantastisches Haus, tolle Lage

Dieses Haus hat zurecht, sehr gute Bewertungen. Die Lage ist klasse, die Zimmer und die Einrichtungen des Hauses sind super. Wir waren mit fünf Erwachsenen dort, jeder hatte ein eigenes Schlafzimmer. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Die Besitzer haben alles sehr gut beschrieben und mit Notizen versehen. Das ist richtig super.

Great Family Vacation

We had a great week at Worth Matravers it is a great base to explore the area with Swanage and Wareham not far. We travelled the coast easily and enjoyed some walks close By to Winspit Quarry. A great family vacation, the house was great for our family and if like us you are a big family then the use of the campsite at the top of the hill was perfect for us all to meet and enjoy a family holiday. The house had everything we needed, plenty cutlery and kitchen equipment, and we enjoyed evenings in the large lounge area a great space for catch ups, wine and games.

All You Need

Great property, spacious, clean , no shop nearby so need a car . Brilliant pub up the road but only does snacks. No restaurants in walking distance. Kitchen in property has a you need . Nearest shop in Swanage . Views are great , but not from back garden only from master bedroom and lounge. But bench out front. Lots of parking . Bathrooms could be up dated but all in working order. Overall a good quiet place to stay .

Great house and location

A fantastic location and ideal house for a family gathering. The house was comfortable and clean with plenty of living/dining space and very well equipped with everything we needed plus thoughtful touches. It was great for a young child with plenty of space to run around plus a clean, sturdy, comfortable cot provided - I mention this particularly because in my experience cots provided in hotels/holiday cottages are often awful! Highly recommended, I would happily return.

Great property for a family holiday, in a lovely area.

Compass Cottage is a spacious and well-equipped property, very well suited to larger, cross-generational family groups. The large lounge and other downstairs spaces are good for socialising or just chilling out.

Great house, great location!

Large, comfortable house that was more than enough for 3 couples. Well-appointed with everything we needed and more. Good sea view and easy access to numerous public footpaths including the SW Coastal Path. Host was most helpful and readily available. Would certainly stay there again if I needed this size of property.

A lovely house for myself and 4 friends. The house was comfortable and we had a room each which was perfect for our stay in beautiful Dorset. Wendy the owner was very helpful and the house was immaculately clean.
