Family NYE 2025 on Holden Beach

Great NYE trip to Holden Beach for my small family of 4! Traditional beach house that has been nicely updated and maintained, and right on the beach! Home was exactly as described and we had 0 issues with the home. We made a crucial mistake by dropping one of the house keys in the sand on a beach walk, but luckily a neighbor found it and returned it to the property management office. The office was extremely nice about the situation and had someone from maintenance drop off the key within a few minutes. We would recommend staying in this rental and would have no issues visiting here again!

Dreamy Vacation

The house was lovely, well appointed, comfortable and true to the pictures. Only a couple of items that would make it better: ceiling fans on the back deck and a table or two to hold drinks on the back deck. But, most importantly, the foot path to the beach needs to be cleared. It was so overgrown that I tripped numerous times and it felt a bit unsafe. Otherwise, it was a great time!

Will Return

I was nervous about this rental due to the lack of online reviews, but we were very happy with Workin On A Dream. The kitchen was great to work in (we don't eat out at all when at the beach). It was well stocked. The back porch was fabulous, with quality furniture, and there was a brand-new walkway to the beach. The house is exactly as pictured. There isn't a lot of space in the bedrooms, but we were happy with that to have the additional beds to sleep in. We will be back to Workin On A Dream! Thank you!

Fabulous location and house!

Overall we had a wonderful stay. The layout of the house is perfect for a small or large group and the kitchen was well stocked for preparing and cooking meals. The porch on the ocean side is so nice and makes you feel like you have the whole beach to yourself. For awareness you do have to make your own beds and provide a lot of essential items for kitchen and bath.

Beachfront Convenience

Perfect beachfront property for me, my husband, and our 2 kids under 10. I could imagine staying here with 1 other small family or with grandparents. Kitchen had everything I needed to cook and serve 3 meals every day. Based on another review I did bring my own cookie sheet to bake cinnamon rolls. It was clean and wasn’t overly decorated which is important to me. Kids enjoyed the beach art around the house. We were able to schedule a Walmart curbside pickup which is only 23 minutes away. No surprises, clean, well equipped, could get groceries relatively easy, and right on beach make it 5 stars. Holden is perfect place for families.

Great Beachfront Home

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this house! It is a cute, partially updated home that hit all our needs. The layout of the home worked really well for us. The house is set up with the kitchen and den in the center of the home and each side of the house has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom to share. As it was only the two of us in the house, not having an “en suite” bathroom was just fine, and having an extra bathroom came in handy. The “master” bedroom (which has a king size bed) was a little cramped, but served its purpose well. We loved that the windows of this room faced the ocean so we could hear the waves. The kitchen has recently been updated and is nice. We did have issues finding good cookware though. The kitchen was full of cookware – almost over crowded – however most were past their prime with scratches and rust forming. I know this is prone to happen in rental properties, but we had to become creative in our cooking to avoid using rusted cookware. We also would suggest the kitchen and den having window coverings on them for privacy at night – there were no blinds or curtains on any windows in the main area. The house does sit back quite a bit from the ocean and is further back than it’s neighbors. This is not a problem really unless you have not-so-great neighbors. This is not a poor reflection on this house, just something to be aware of (bringing a fan for white-noise in our room at night was enough to drown out the neighbors ☺). We did enjoy the deck out front for sunrises and relaxing with a book, but a few of the nails are coming out so you do need to watch your step. Overall our stay was great and the house is very cute and met our needs. The location is great being beachfront!! Why we enjoyed our stay: Nice house, loved the location – Beachfront!, great deck, comfortable home, updates were nicely done. Maintenance Suggestions: updated cookware, window coverings in kitchen/den, fix nails sticking out/loose on deck. Things to be aware of: House sits back further than the neighbors, there are no exhaust fans in the bathrooms (but there are windows), there are NO paper products left in the house (in the contract, but I missed it), the beach in front of the house is wonderful! You are in a great location!!

Great getaway!

This is a lovely cottage right on the beach. Location is about 4 miles from the bridge, so there isn't a lot of traffic in front of the house. My sister and I, plus our 2 adult daughters enjoyed this house and it was perfect for us. We each had a bedroom and shared the 2 baths. It says it sleeps 11, but that would be WAY too crowded in the living spaces. Also, the queen bedrooms have an additional twin, so there is nothing but bed in those rooms. Makes the bedrooms very crowded. They've put "extra" furniture in the closets, which further adds to the crowded bedroom. As I said - it was perfect for the four of us.
