Sunset Shores on Lake Thompson

Sunset Shores offers 75 feet of shoreline on the largest natural made lake in South Dakota (Lake Thompson). Sleeping for up to 10 guests in beds. Enjoy beautiful sunsets, excellent fishing, and plenty of access to public hunting land. This ranch style home is fully furnished and includes full kitchen with utensils so you can prepare your own “catch of the day”. Bedroom 1 has a king bed and bedrooms 2 and 3 each have 2 queens. The main room has 3 couches, a recliner, dining table and butcher block kitchen island so there is plenty of space for everybody to relax. The west facing deck is the perfect spot to take in a sunset or crack an ice cold beverage. Feel free to use the propane grill and beachfront fire pit (wood included). Public access to the lake is less than a mile away so you can launch your watercrafts and enjoy a day on the lake.

Very nice place. Worked great for our group. Kitchen was the most and best equipped of any vacation rental I have stayed at. And we got to see the northern lights while there. Lake Preston is a great little town for necessities and a nice bar/restaurant.

Great home and great location on the lake.

Came with a group of 5 guys for a weekend getaway. We'll definitely be back. Clean, great sleeping arrangements, good kitchen, lots of supplies, and an awesome view.

Great relaxing time in a beautiful lake front house.

The house was very clean and comfortable. Loved the 3 sofas in the living room. The sunsets were unbelievable and it was fun to watch the rain storm move across the lake. The owner was quick to respond to our calls and texts. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful Stay at Sunset Shores!

This was one of our best VRBO experiences. Anders was super helpful throughout our trip planning and during our stay., and often went "above and beyond" to make sure we had a great time. EXCEPTIONAL Stay! GREAT HOST! We will be back!

My family and I stayed at this amazing lakefront home and we didn’t want to leave! Everything was there that we needed from towels to cleaning supplies, all amenities!We loved our stay in this peaceful home! We loved the comfy beds, the open floor plan, beautiful sunsets and it’s one of the best locations on the lake! Not to mention, phenomenal fishing right off shore in front of the home! The host was SO accommodating ! The friendliest host that I have experienced to date! Thank you so much for offering your home as a vacation rental! It provided instant vacation for us. We cant wait to come back!
