"Kensington Hotel on State Street at Ann Arbor is a very pleasant place to stay. The facility is clean, quiet, and convenient. It is relatively small, but offers all the upscale amenities you would like to enjoy. I wish we had time to stay longer so that we could use the indoor swimming pool, the lively backyard, the sauna, and the gym, etc. Their workers were all friendly. "I only stayed for 2 days, had breakfast and even though I was the first to walk in early in the morning, I was greeted with warm smiles and hospitality. I had a knee injury and the staff quickly prepared an ice bag for me. The room was nicely decorated, very clean, and the bed was comfortable as well. Nespresso coffee in the room was wonderful. I look forward to staying at the Vanguard again. "

"So much character in this place. My bathroom was beautifully tiled and updated. Some things about the room were a little worn out (window paint and carpet), but the character and warmth of the space outweigh any of that. The bed was very comfortable. I found the whole experience restful. And the air conditioning worked really well for an old building. Staff was also warm and welcoming. "
