(PRIVATE OUTDOOR SPA, But No Pool Access/Use) Our OWL HOUSE RIVER RETREAT is an off-site (200 feet from the Main Hotel Building) 3,200 square foot historic river-front home (built in 1904) with wide water views of the St. Lucie River. This luxurious and charming 2 story, 5 bedroom home sleeps up to 14 guests and features direct access to the Riverwalk along the St. Lucie River, antique Florida heart-pine flooring and paneling, a working fireplace and exposed wood-beam cathedral ceiling in the living room, a spacious den with a pull out queen size sleeper sofa, a fully-equipped kitchen, a spacious dining room, a spacious Florida Room with a second queen size sleeper sofa and a second dining table, a ground floor handicap accessible (ADA) master bedroom with king size bed, a second floor bedroom with king size bed, three additional bedrooms each with a queen bed (2 on ground floor and 1 on second floor), four full bathrooms (2 with shower only -- one of which is handicap accessible -- and two with tub and shower), one powder room bathroom, a spacious backyard with 100 feet of River frontage and a fire table with Adirondack chairs, a spacious patio with dining table and comfortable outdoor seating, and a private outdoor spa. The Owl House is one of the most unusual and symmetrical homes in Stuart due to its four-pointed gable roof which resembles the head of an owl, lending the name "Owl House" to the unique structure. Fantastic House!

We had a large group staying over Thanksgiving. The house was perfect! The location is fantastic. Great communication with Steven and staff. We would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Family Gathering to attend a local wedding

The owner, Steven Vitale, met us to give a tour of the house when we arrived, which was most appreciated. We had a delightful stay for three nights. The house was clean, had all the amenities you could ask for and had an incredible view of the St. Lucie River. Staff replenished the coffee pods and water bottles daily. The character of the house was amazing with the unique ceiling lines, furniture, artwork, cozy backyard area with chairs, benches, picnic table and fire pit. Lastly, I cannot tell you how nice the Vitale family was to deal with. You can be assured that if there is any need or problem you experience while staying at the house, it will be addressed. To top it off, the historic area of Stuart is a nice place to visit. The Nowik, Shedlock and Johnson Families Eastern Pennsylvania

Family reunion

The owl house is perfect for a big family reunion. There are lots of living rooms to hang out in especially if you rent the whole house. There are 2 sides…one side is renovated and has a very spacious master bathroom and bedroom that leads to the patio. There is also a room on this side with queen bed that has a renovated bathroom right outside the bedroom. The actual OWL house side is historic and older. The outdoor space is great with a patio jacuzzi and fire pit. Also lots of sitting and tables to gather. I loved that it is right on the water and close to everything in downtown Stuart. We all enjoyed morning walks along the river too. It’s was also nice having house keeping with fresh towels each day too. Usually with VRBO rentals you don’t get this service but since this house is associated with the old Colorado Inn we did. The staff couldn’t be nicer and were very accommodating

Family Reunion

We had a great stay this past weekend at the Owl House and Old Carolina Inn...Steven and his staff were great...great views of the river and the fire pit was a big hit! Perfect for a family reunion...

Great house / perfect location

Held our family reunion here. Nine people stayed comfortably and we thoroughly enjoyed the spaciousness of the house and enjoyed the beautiful location and walk ability to bars restaurants, etc. we all enjoy the comfortable beds and the beautiful linens. House was spotless when we got there and it was cleaned every morning. We have already rebooked for next year.
