"The room was to hot,shower head was dirty"

"This was one of the best places I have stayed in a long time. The look of the Ribchester Arms, when we arrived, was impressive. We had a very large room and bathroom, both very modern with a 'fridge and juices, milk, drinks and biscuits. The staff were very helpful and looked after us. Breakfast was freshly cooked and pretty good. We ate there a couple of nights and the food was wonderful. A recommended place to stay ."

"The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained with good decor. The bathroom had a powerful shower and enough room around the basin for your wash bags. Lighting in the bathroom is always an issue for me (!) so as usual I had my mirror on the window sill in search of natural light. We ate in the pub on the first night, sharing a platter. Good menu. My partner sampled the local beer and was pleased he did. Although a full breakfast was on offer we just had a yoghurt & some toast. The toast...

"Room was spotless and appeared to have been recently decorated. Unfortunately there were cracks in the sink and the hotel generally looks a little tired. The hotel staff were amazing … all so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Particularly Aziz at breakfast and the wonderful bartender Mal. He couldn’t do enough for us, moving furniture around and asking us if we wanted any particular music to be played. He really went above and beyond to make my 89 year old mum’s evening. "

"Extensive mould in the bedroom. Very dated decor in room and the taps were broken. Lots of cobwebs. Wedding on and the music played till 00.30 very loud, so couldn't sleep at all. A memorable stay for the wrong reasons"

"Englisches Frühstück war gut, leider keine Kästen in den Zimmern, Föhn war defekt, Duschkopf war defekt. Meine 80jährigen Eltern bekamen ein Zimmer mit Badewanne, obwohl ein barrierefreies Bad extra vereinbart wurde und uns zugesichert wurde. Das Putzen des Zimmers musste bei der Rezeption extra angefordert werden. "

"Set in a stunning location, beautiful building but tired, with repair issues, such as bathroom sink and sash window lock, both broken. Also had problems with Key Door Pass, which had to be rebooted after several failed attempts to get into room. Breakfast superb, excellent quality but Spa booking disappointing as full and no reply to my enquiries. "

"Lovely decor in the hotel. Our suite was gorgeous. We ate in the restaurant and it was lovely, great menu. The pub is very cosy, very relaxed feel to it."
