The Miners Rest - luxury accommodation in Stawell, at the foot of the Grampians

Luxury accommodation in a quiet street close to the town centre. Nineteen fifties weatherboard cottage, totally renovated to give you all the comforts of home.
The house features a beautifully appointed French country master bedroom, a second bedroom with desk and two single beds, fully renovated kitchen and a large outside deck area and bbq.
Gas log fire, split system and ducted evaporative cooling.

Approximately 1 km from the Stawell athletics track, home of the famous Stawell Gift!!!
Only a short 20 minute drive to the beautiful township of Halls Gap in the Grampians National Park.
Close to the Pyrenees and Great Western for all lovers of good wine. It's a great place to base yourself and visit all of the towns and wineries in the area.

For your information, we have a security camera installed at our property. It is located under the carport looking at the driveway. This is for the security of our property only.

Everything was clean and comfortable. Very good beds - slept well. Very retro and a bit rustic. Close to the pub for a meal. A little overcrowded with the knick-knacks for a minimalist like myself. All good. Pleasant atmosphere.

Stayed with elderly mother and daughter. Rather than just paying for the 2 BR they required you to pay per person regardless of whether there were 2 of us sharing the queen bed and not needing extra sheets towels etc. Queried this with owners online as they wanted an extra $80 fir the 3rd person ( no bfast supplied etc) and then had very officious call from VRBO stating they cld cancel the booking if we didn’t pay due the correct no of people booked. I didn’t know till last minute if my daughter wld join me so it was all quite stressful. Confirmed the morning of that we had 3 of us and laid the extra $80 ( received no benefit for this) than we would have. We were also asked which bedroom as they would lock one if just 2 of us. I always planned to have a sep bedroom from my mother. It was such a different experience from prior house bookings where price was same for house rather than No of people. House nicely presented, rooms smaller than appeared on line. Freezing in bedrooms the main had a small heater you cld use but not the twin. Bathroom has shower so not good if mobility issues as have to step over it and nothing to hang on to. Lounge pleasant with both faux fireplace and Split system AC making main living areas toasty. Street quite narrow with some shabbier houses across the rd and next door impacting feel of the street, but v central to main town. Hosts take obvious pride in thier place with nice garden and renovated inside.

Even though it was cold outside we were cosy and warm at the Miners Rest property. Had a great meal at the Brix Hotel round the corner a short stroll away. The bed was lovely and the decor was beautiful.

When we first walked in it felt as if we were waliking intom a nice, clean, comfortable home and not a sterile rental property. All one would need was there and the owners had remotely turned on the airconditioner to warm the house for our arrival. It was pleasant and relaxing.

I was initially a bit worried about the property given it was still available so close to a public holiday, but I was so pleasantly surprised! The house was clean, comfortable, spacious, and perfectly equipped. We stayed there as all Halls Gap accommodation was booked for our desired dates, and Stawell is probably a bit further than I'd want to stay at moving forward, but that's not at all on the hosts or the property itself. Vicki was incredibly communicative, and I was so pleased with our stay at Miner's Rest!

The owners have done an amazing job renovating this house and taking it into the Luxury market. Its simply beautiful. Well stocked with crockery and cutlery. A great outdoor area. Its in a great location walking distance to town and the neighbours are friendly but quiet.

This newly renovated cottage has all the comforts of home. The main bedroom is decorated in a French country style and this theme is mirrored throughout the house. The lovely modern kitchen is sunlit throughout the day and an adjacent undercover patio with a large table and a barbeque just invite you to sit and enjoy the day. The property is convenient for trips to Halls Gap and the Grampians, but also to the wonderful wineries around the area. With great cooling and heating, including a Gas log fire this property would be comfortable all year round. There is a ramp to access the property but the shower is located over the bathtub,
