Second time staying here. The host is fantastic! Checkout is the easiest I have encountered in all the rentals I have used. Location is no more than 10 minutes from all attractions in Springfield. Quiet neighborhood. Hoping to rent again in a couple years.

This lovely home had everything we needed along with wonderful outdoor sidewalks and yard for pup. Our family would absolutely stay again.

This home was beautiful and cozy with plenty of sleeping space for our group! Spacious living room, kitchen and game room for some down time during our busy schedule during the gymnastics competition. 100% would recommend!!

Traveled with a group of 10 it had plenty of room for all of us. Host was good at communicating with us before and during our stay. Recommend if in the area!

Great Location

This location is very close to the Lincoln house and museum. It’s also close to the Dana Thomas house which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Communication with the property manager was excellent.

Halfway meetup

The Douglas House was the perfect place for a birthday meet-up! It feels like a well-loved and well-lived in home away from home–almost like visiting grandma ion the 80s! There's plenty of space, comfortable living areas and beds, and it's close to a beautiful park, convenience store, and the Capital. We will definitely stay here again!

Lovely home. Old of cosi i understood that not everything was going to be perfect. I enjoyed the home. Clean. The outside neighborhood was full of life. People in the neighborhood out and traffic passing through. I felt safe. There were home that were Lovely. Then the next home was boarded up. It really shows the history of the area. I really had a great vacation, short but very enjoyable.

Short work stay

A coworker and I stayed at the house for a couple of nights while we were in town for work. It’s a great location to get to just about anywhere quickly in town. The house itself is beautiful and has just about everything that you could need, plus some fun things like a foosball table, games, and even had snacks for us when we got there. It’s only about a half mile from Washington Park, which is beautiful for a walk or to take family to play. The neighborhood itself is beautiful and we were very happy with our hosts and the communication that we received. I would recommend this for Anybody looking to stay in Springfield for a few nights whether it’s for work or for fun

If you like reliving your college frat days...

The owner was very good about communications. The property might have looked like the pictures at one time or they were edited. It has the potential to be a great place but is in need of repairs. The bedroom with the 2 twin beds has a window that is not installed correctly so it has a constant draft. The refrigerator is a newer one but the entire back (inside) is iced over. The downstairs of this house is nice enough, the upstairs portion needs to be updated to match the picutres posted.

Disappointed

The Good: Communication. Heat worked good. Cute neighborhood. Good locationThe Bad: General condition was poor. The upstairs bath that was remodeled in 2022 had fixtures hanging from the ceiling, rusted fixtures. Mold and a shower surround with a hole in it. The blinds had broken slats and the downstairs bathroom blinds didn’t cover the entire window. There were no blinds in the downstairs bedroom and the curtains were sheers that offered no privacy. Never could get the WiFi to accept the password that was given and the refrigerator was iced over. The walls had giant cracks in them and the windows were so poorly installed that the draft actually rattled the blinds in the upstairs bedroom and blew the door closed. Whoever painted the place got paint on everything including the towel racks and other fixtures. The Ugly: Mice. Woke up to several food stuffs that were left on the counter ruined by a mouse or mice. Owner was responsive and had an exterminator out the next day.All said and done, I would not stay here again.

Place was a little dated and could use some updates if you care about that kind of thing, but that didn't bother us at all. House was great, host was responsive, loved the neighborhood. House was very clean when we got there - backyard was not really landscaped and was mostly mud, but my guess is that's partly because it's a pet-friendly venue. It rained a lot before we arrived and while we were there, so we needed to be careful about dogs tracking mud into the house. Loved the neighborhood. We arrived somewhat late after a pretty bad storm and neighbors across the street who were sitting on the porch warned us about a downed powerline to look out for a door or so down. It's the kind of neighborhood where people sit on their porches and say hello while you're walking by. Great little local tea and coffee shop called Stellas is within a couple of blocks and the capital was less than a mile away (we walked there). We had a great stay and I would recommend this place and stay there again!

Excellent communication with the host, fast response every time. Heater worked great during the 0 weather. Great location.Down side was house was very dated, photos used in the listing are inaccurate. May have been accurate at one time.Downstairs bedroom curtains provided no privacy, or kept out light from street lights. Walls had missing plaster in stairway, painted over rotten door trim in kitchen, windows were drafty upstairs from being installed incorrectly. Someone showed up to shovel snow off front porch and sidewalk at 10pm, but never touched the back door where we were ask to enter from. Exposed wiring in upstairs closet lighting.Owner was very responsive and provided a number to text pictures of issues to. Haven’t received a response yet.

I loved that my dog's had a place to stretch their legs while we were in town for our German Shepherd national competition. The neighbors that we met were very nice and made our stay feel welcoming. The house was open and the rooms were large to accommodate all of us that were staying. The host answered my questions quickly and I never felt like we were being left unanswered. The location was perfect to our competition as we were only 10 minutes from the State fairgrounds.
