Weeki fun house

The best thing about this area is the deck/dock area . come watch manatees play, or enjoy the kayaks and be right along side of them. Location, location, location. you can see the main river from the dock that is how close you are. great canal a short paddle to hospital hole. short boat ride to the gulf, come enjoy scallop season. This is the place to enjoy nature at its finest on the beautiful Weeki Wachee river.

Great location, great communication from the owners, although we didn’t use them this time- they have well kept kayaks and launching spot. This is our second stay at this home, nice price point and value.

The location was exactly what we wanted. House was well stacked, and had everything that you needed. We loved that they had kayaks for you to use and paddle boards too. You could fish off the dock which was very fun. The outside deck needs to be repaired. There were many trip hazards, broken boards and the screws needed to be tightened down because of them sticking up. We also felt that the bathroom needed a place for you to set your toothbrush. The sink area was very small and no room. In the bedrooms, there should be a little night stands for people who would like to put their glasses or their cell phone. Also, for people who have a CPAP machine.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Scam property!!! We got there and there is this foul smell of mildew/mold in the air. First day trying to get on the river and the bottom step broke exposing rusty nails. The 3rd night of our stay there was a 5ft line of water dripping across the entire living room. Filled up 2 buckets!! Hosts came out and “fixed” the roof next day. Then contacted us the day after that to send out repair men. 3 days of repair men and they didn’t show up early like they said they would. We missed a trip in Crystal river with our family that lives close by, because we were waiting for the repair men to show up. Host just said “did you feel like you couldn’t leave?” But never offered to come and let the repair men in, in the first place. They left a giant portal in the ceiling and loud dehumidifier on for 3 days. Also hosts would just show up randomly while we were staying there so doesn’t feel very private. Then the shower curtain rod fell on my 10yr old daughter’s head and then fell on me when I was trying over and over to repair it but it wasn’t wide enough for the shower.When the repair men were there they mentioned that the house was 5ft under water just the previous year. HELLO MOLD?!?Back to the horror dock steps… they got those fixed the day before we left even though we mentioned it the second day. Terrible experience. Awful.

Our first time at weeki Wachee. This was a perfect location where this place is located. House was very clean. It has n more items to accommodate for the length of stay. We stayed 2 nights 3 days. We loved how it’s right of the river n not far from other attractions. Hopefully for next yr, we will try to stay another round! Thank you!

Couldn't be happier! The house was exactly as described in the listing. Lots of space, super clean, and the host was very welcoming and responsive. There were seven kayaks and two paddleboards available and enough paddles for each. The location was perfect! Just a short paddle from hospital hole. We took a day to paddle to the springs state park, and all of us will remember that day forever. If you're looking for a place on the springs, you should stop looking.

We had the best time! The house was great! Communication was amazing! Any time a text they got back with me super face! There were dolphins and manatees at the back porch. We were there for 7 days. Enjoyed every minute of it! And the neighbor did an amazing firework show for the 4th!

Lovely peaceful hideaway

I would love to give this little place a 5 star all around rating and there was only one reason I didn’t give it that. In the pro column: First, you have a front row seat to all the water life passing by (right out the back door) dolphins, manatee, fish, snakes, etc. This place is quiet and peaceful with a shady dock area - loads of kayaks to choose from, paddles and life jackets as well. It has a well appointed kitchen and loads of towels for the bathroom and very comfortable beds. They supplied some paper products and cleaning products. I was raised poor (but didn’t know it). We camped in tents for our summer vacations and slept on the ground - and loved it. The reason for the less than 5 star review is the smell inside the house. It is an old house and it smells like mold or mildew - something akin to a musty hamper or your teenagers room after they have been practicing two a days all summer and leaving their dirty sweaty work out clothes in a heap on their floor. I will give them credit, they had dehumidifiers in multiple places throughout the house (so I am not the first to notice), but other than the smell, the house was spotlessly clean. I say all of that so others can be aware, and not surprised when they arrive. I read the prior reviews and some had mentioned the smell so I was aware .. I also weighed the location and other household amenities - it was worth the risk to me due to the location alone. Would I stay here again - You Betcha!

Fourth time staying

This was our fourth stay here and always a great time. This time we seen otters, dolphins and manatees all from the dock. The recent upgrades made this stay even better than before. We plan to stay again next year!

Birthday Trip

Nice location, good price & appreciated having the kayaks & paddle boards. There was no large floating water mat as pictured. There were games & misc. entertainment items available that would be good for outdoor activities. The house was very clean & the check out / clean up process was minimal which is nice. I would caution people as there are many un-level surfaces on the decks / walkways. The owners were responsive & easy to work with. Overall we had a great time. We saw so much wildlife - manatees, alligators, crabs & mullet fish flying out of the water left & right!

Everything you'd need

Other than the house and decking being a bit slanted in many directions, this property had EVERYTHING we needed for two nights for a holiday weekend with friends!!! We couldn't have asked for more!

Peaceful!

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 teenage kids and we had the best time! We used the kayaks each day and saw tons of manatees, we even had a mother and baby dolphins follow a boat through our canal one morning! Great location and house had all the basics!

Little Gem

Cute little spot right on the river. Hospital Hole right as you enter main river. Saw lots of manatees. House was clean and had everything we needed. Check in/out was one of the easiest I’ve had. Will definitely book again! Thank you!

PERFECT PLACE!

The house is located so close to the Weeki Wachee River you can see it from the deck!!! We really loved our stay there! My grandson enjoyed fishing from the deck. We kayaked with dolphins and the baby played with the strings on the front of our kayaks!!! We also had a Momma and baby manatees come up to the deck!! It’s truly the best place and we really enjoyed it!!

Relaxing Getaway

If you're looking for a quiet spot to relax by the water this is it!! The house was clean and comfortable but we spent most of our time outside chilling/grilling by the water. We had a great day kayaking and swimming and my son loved laying on the floating mat after! Highly recommend for a simple, peaceful getaway!

river oasis

Needed a quick get away and found this little gem! Spent most of our time outside on the patio with our pup. Home came equipped with all the necessities for river activities, we enjoyed the short tour to the river itself and neighboring channels. Walking distance to the upper deck was also great if you didnt want to kayak or paddle up. The home is as the pictures described, nothing fancy but we appreciated the attempt in touches owners took to make it welcoming and cozy. If youre like us, you came to relax and spend most of the time outside anyway. We were deep in relaxation mode we extended our stay and returned home feeling recharged. Would recommend, and stay again!
