It has amazing lake views from any of the 4 decks. Boasting 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, it sleeps 16 people comfortably. The private dock can accommodate 2-3 boats , 2 docks for personal watercrafts . Large swimming dock area for relaxing and swimming with a ladder. Enjoy the evenings grilling out with family and friends and relaxing in your private hot tub!

Lake Trip 2025

Awesome view from back deck, awesome boat dock with jet ski storage and room for (2) boats! Very close to marina and plenty of parking at the house for several vehicles. Also plenty of trailer parking close by, bring a trailer lock and chock blocks! Stairs to dock were challenging but doable even for me, just take breaks to catch your breath and enjoy the view!

September Fun!

We had a group of 8 adults using the 4 bedrooms. All the beds were reported as very comfortable. The home is very well stocked for larger groups with the main dining table able to seat up to 10 people comfortably. The decks are great - particularly enjoyed the swing and the hot tub on the lower level. The steps are certainly a challenge, however with some planning to limit the trips up and down, you can enjoy boating and swimming off the nice dock as we did. Very nice home with an accommodating and responsive host. We look forward to a future return visit. BTW - the week after labor day is a great time to enjoy Norris Lake with low lake traffic.

Amazing views

Amazing views! Absolutely beautiful. The property was well described. The lake was very low when we went which made the walk to the dock an extra challenge. We ended up getting a slip at the marina to make things easier. The kitchen is definitely small like noted in other reviews but it works.

Great Stay

House was great and clean. Views were amazing. Water is amazing. Steps weren’t for the weak of heart but that is clearly disclosed in the listing. Owner was responsive to messages and questions I had before we arrived. Once we arrived, he checked in with us to make sure everything was good. Would definitely stay again!

Really nice house

The house has a great layout. Very functional. Kitchen was a little small to meal prep for a large group but we made it work. Rooms were spacious and clean. The view from the back was amazing. The stairs from dock to house are challenging. No carrying of coolers for sure. Hot tub wouldn’t heat up but wasn’t a big deal for the group. Overall it was great for our group and would book again.

Great Lake spot

12 adults & 1 toddler enjoyed this spacious and comfy lake house. A great place to unwind and relax. The stairs, as advertised, are definitely a challenge for any older adults or anyone unfit. A great exercise though. Would definitely recommend Carpe Diem and would stay again!

Flat hollow marina cabin with a view

Fair warning the steps are killer! If you are not physically able to walk nearly 200 steps to get to the dock, pick a different house. You do waste time driving back and forth to the marina to pick up those who are unable to do steps. Otherwise the house and host were fantastic. This house is more designed for a couple families with kids and not really for a large group of adults. On rainy days there are no activities to do indoors for adults. The loft bed is definitely for kids and the kitchen is small and not enough seating for everyone if there are adults. Perfect tucked away quiet area for a couple families to enjoy the stay at Norris lake. House was very clean and well stocked. Plenty of towels. Listing is as described I just didn’t read carefully enough to realize it was not the best place for our large adult family vacation. Joe is great to work with and was very willing to accommodate early arrival and late departure and gave excellent directions. Would stay there again which a much smaller group. Honestly, no more then 6 adults with a few kids would be a perfect fit In this house. Thanks Joe for a great time and for sharing your house with us!

Very nice home - excellent view!

This is a very nice home. Amazing view! The home is well supplied and comfortable. The steps to the dock were a bit daunting but we managed well. Flat Hollow Marina is very nice too. I recommend this beautiful home to anyone. If you have someone who can't do the steps to your boat... Just have someone get the boat and meet you at the marina. Plenty of parking. That's what we did. Otherwise it was a beautiful week!

Great place!

This is amazing place. The view from the decks are beautiful. The only downfall is the steps to the water. You have to be prepared if you plan on staying the day at the water. Would highly recommend this house to adults that are in shape.

Relaxing with a great view

Loved staying here. It was a little hard to find for people arriving after dark, but we would visit this site again! Home was spacious and pretty well equipped. The 5th bedroom is a loft in a upstairs bedroom and is better for youth or smaller kids. Overall this place was just what we needed. Thank You!

When we first arrived to the cabin it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned very well but the place was very spacious and we had a lot of fun. The steps to get to the dock are not made for older people of small children, we counted 166 steps but overall a very nice getaway!

Carpe Diem Review

Carpe Diem was a great place to stay. This was the first time we have been in this general vicinity of Norris Lake. The house was in a great protected portion of Flat Hollow Marina and allowed our kids to swim without concern. The dock was great and covered our boat from the weather. The 189 steps down to the dock were a fun work out, and not bad at all. They would be a challenge for elderly individuals, however. The decks and hot tub are great for outdoor hang out, but the lack of a fire pit or area for kids to play outside were the only downers. The home had ample room for 2 large families. The internet was great at the house and even extended down to the dock which made communication possible (via Facetime Audio). The owners were quite receptive and quick to respond with the two issues we had. Of note: the raccoons are active here and will get into the trash (even when tied down). They even venture onto the dock. We will definitely consider repeat renting at Carpe Diem. Thank you Joe and Dee.

Family vacation

We really enjoyed our stay at Norris lake. The house is comfortable and plenty of room to spread out. Communication with the owner is fantastic. The only downside is there is no cell service in the entire region so you have to use WiFi for calls. Also if you have elderly parents you will want to pick them up at the marina which is very close by. There are a lot of stairs to the dock from the house and it does take a lot of time and energy for our parents to walk up and down. Otherwise this is a great home and we enjoyed our stay very much.
