"The apartment was comfortable, clean, tidy and convenient for access to the racecourse or for access to York by car. It’s about a half hour walk to the city centre. There's a local bakery and convenience store nearby and we found on street parking for one car. In the first floor apartment, There’s a small kitchen with a full cooker, microwave, kettle, fridge and washer dryer. The dining table only seats four so you may need to also sit on a bed. The beds are comfortable with bedding and towels...

"We loved our stay here! Clean and had a great sleep. Brilliant price for somewhere to stay close to York. Carpark was a little full and some bad parking meant it was a space down, but not the owners fault. Highly recommend for an affordable cute little getaway! Would definitely return"

"A beautiful barn conversion in an outstanding area. The Road to the cottage is narrow and bumpy but worth it to enjoy the peace once there. "We had a fantastic stay. Check in was so easy. The lodge was absolutely perfect, so spacious and very well presented. The kitchen area has everything you need and more. The location is amazing overlooking the lake, and even though there are lodges either side of you it is very private. The hot tub was fantastic especially using it after dark. What a great start to our year of celebrations for our 25th wedding anniversary. We will definitely return."

The main issue was noise, as it is not well insulated from noise outside (noise from the kitchen staff from the pub opposite smashing the bins until midnight) and from the flat below (could hear the couple being intimate), so although the bed is comfy not ideal to get a good night sleep."
