South West Coast Path Section 5 Trailhead

Confusing on arriving with parking. Website advertised £6 per day and unable to reserve. On arrival parked in a space out front and informed we could not park there as all the front spaces were reserved by guests who had gone out for the day but would return. Were able to park out the back and charged £8. Arriving late that night the original space remained empty and still empty on leaving the next day. Still do not quite understand the unreserved but reserved parking situation.

We were greeted with a handshake which is always a good start. Our hosts, Neil and Rosemarie were welcoming and eager to make sure our stay was a good one. Our room was spacious as was the bathroom and shower. We were pleased with the coffee machine and the fridge on the landing for the cold milk. The small touches are what makes this hotel a special one. The bar downstairs proved popular to watch the world cup and we appreciated the hospitality during the evening. Breakfast was cooked to order and taken on the deck. The swimming pool was excellent. Car parking is easy and plentiful. One small point is that we would have appreciated a fan in our room which was very hot. Given the extremely high temperatures we are all experiencing it might be something to consider for the future. Otherwise everything was absolutely fine and of a very high standard.
