"1 The Noust is a perfect haven for a quiet retreat and to explore mainland Orkney. The cottage is extremely well equipped, especially the kitchen. The storage heaters made the cottage just comfortable, without being 'too hot.' There are some lovely walks around the village and a local shop for any groceries required. The flat is attractive, comfortable and well equipped, and is in a great location for shopping, restaurants, and places of interest - and also for getting to the bus stationt if you plan to use public transport to get around (we did). "Fantastic stay at John O Groats. We had booked a double ensuite room which looked lovely. When we arrived the manager was waiting for us to ask if we would mind if they upgraded our room as the heating wasnt wasnt working. Obviously we didnt mind. Imagine our surprise when we were shown to our upgraded room. They had given us a three bedroomed, two bathroom lodge which was amazing. Warm, comfortable clean and pur luxury. We settled down by the logburner to watch the sea through the huge windows....

"This was a pleasant cottage with parking in front. It was nicely decorated and beds were very comfortable.It was five minutes from a co-op food shop which opens seven days a week 7 am to 10 pm. Almost opposite the bus station and a two minute walk to the ferry. Bike hire is available in Stromness. "Property was perfectly appointed with everything you would need. Bathrooms are spacious and nice big towels! Ocean view and great walks. We did two day trips and spent one day locally which worked out very well. I would definitely recommend this rental!"
