ALTONA GARDEN RETREAT

Altona Garden Retreat is a beautiful quiet and relaxing property situated at Spreyton 10 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania berth, 10 minutes from Devonport CBD, 15 minutes from the airport and 70 km. from Cradle Mountain. Being in the centre of the North Coast of Tasmania makes " Altona Garden Retreat " is also an excellent base for the many attractions on offer.

The Garden:
Nestled in a secluded private three acre native garden at South Spreyton, Altona Garden Retreat is surrounded by huge eucalyptus trees, native shrubs as well as a range of conifers and deciduous shrubs.

Altona Garden Retreat is a self contained two bedroom unit.
Furnished with a Queen size bed, a double and single bunk. Spacious living and kitchen area, bathroom with a walk in shower. All utensils and bedding is supplied, all you need is your food. Ample parking for a boat, horse float or even trucks, a secure paddock for horses.

The Unit:
Located among the 3 acres of garden in a private and peaceful area. Your hosts Fay and Colin Stephenson live at the property and are close at hand for check in and to answer any questions you may have. The accommodation is a modern, warm and comfortable self contained unit suitable to accommodate up to 5 people. Situated close to all amenities and tourist attractions for this region.

Relaxing, private, beautiful gardens.

This was a great little apartment that had everything you needed for a 5 day stay and even longer I'm sure. The gardens are amazing and provide lots of spaces to relax. The kitchen is fully equipped with a variety of appliances if you plan to cook.

Amazing Altona.

Altona Gardens are amazing, so beautiful and well kept. You can feel the owner's love for their property in every hidden nook and flower patch. Very relaxing to be surrounded by greenery. The unit is spacious and tidy with everything you need for a comfortable getaway.

Perfect garden sanctuary

Thank you so much for our lovely short stay. The gardens were even more beautiful than the photos and the cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. It was a perfect base for our exploration though I would have been equally happy just staying at Altona

Stunning Garden Retreat

The property was neat and comfortable and suited our requirement of two double rooms. It is in a quiet country setting but only a short drive to many north coast tourist attractions. The hosts were very welcoming and invited us enjoy and explore the stunning gardens, where there are a number of tables and seats to enjoy the view across the dams, watch the birds and listen to the frogs. They were generous with their time if you were interested in hearing about the development of the expansive gardens but also happy to leave you to enjoy your stay uninterrupted. We could easily have stayed longer.

This place is a great place to relax and unwind after a busy day sightseeing. Gardens are amazing and so peaceful. Accommodation was spacious and comfortable. Would like to have stayed longer. Highly recommend.

VERY GOOD

We have no complaints accommodation was clean and tidy on arrival really first class. The gardens and surrounds are really exceptional we really enjoyed watching the rabbits, birds and paddy mellons(little kangaroos)each morning.(and lambs next door) The property is located in a quite semi rural location and is pretty much as safe as you could ask for We had no dramas leaving our windows open all day. The hosts Colin and fay are most accommodating and very easy going. Thanks for the raspberries col we had them the next day with a bit of cream,,,,just perfect. Really much nicer than staying in a hotel we cooked toast and did some basic meals over the six day we were there the kitchen is fully equipped. Thanks Colin and Fay we enjoyed our stay . Very special gardens and comfy unit.

Set in a valley spectacular 3 acre garden with ponds, beautiful mature trees. A real delight to explore. The unit is well equipped, and the mattress toppers make for a comfortable sleep. Undercover parking a bonus.

Very comfortable villa set in magnificent gardens

We absolutely loved our stay at Altona. The villa is very comfortable and well equipped. The hosts are delightul and the gardens are stunning, even in the middle of Winter. We plan to return to stay in Spring and Autumn and visit the nearby Tasmanian Arboretum, which is not to be missed.

Altona Garden Retreat

A simple, comfortable and well equipped cottage in a beautiful garden and a good location. We found meals at the golf club to be delicious and the French restaurant called Camille in Devonport to be very special.

A comfortable granny flat in a beautiful setting only a short trip from town

Colin was easy to deal with and was within easy reach of a number of local attractions. With awesome garden settings the granny flat was far enough from the road that you never heard the traffic.
