"The Love Shack" For Couples - Private Hot Tub, Meals, Pampering, Pet Sitting!

Designed to be the ultimate couples getaway!  This small cottage is located on our 20 acre farm, newly remodeled, and comes with a ton of extras designed to make your stay relaxing and private.  And because we're local and live on the property, we can save you time and money by providing things that you don't have to stop at the store to get, or bulky items that are hard to travel with.   This is also a great option for couples traveling with an infant, as we have all the necessities to make things easy.

Arrive to a fully stocked kitchen with drinks, snacks, local produce when in season, fresh eggs and items to make your own breakfast. Condiments, coffee, cream/sugar are also provided.
Meal prep and grocery shopping available for additional fee (although I love to cook for people, so I'm usually always willing to make you a meal for free)

The kitchenette has a coffee maker, microwave, full size fridge/freezer, air fryer, toaster oven, griddle, and convection stovetop.  There is also a small gas grill for outdoor use.

Couples focused games and books

Private beach patio with hot tub (seasonal) fire pit, outdoor table and chairs.  We supply wood, and will even start your fires for you in the evening if you want (smores included!)

Beach gear, baby gear, bikes - can all be borrowed, along with any kitchen needs you don't want to buy.

Need to work or work out?  The neighboring building has a small gym and desk, as well as a smart TV, A/C and heat.

There is a large pool and another hot tub next to the main home that can be used by request.

Our farm, named for our 4 children's Eight Bare Feet that are often running around, is located halfway between South Haven and Saugatuck, making it a great location for visiting either city.  We are surrounded by wineries, farmers markets and u-pick farms, and just a few miles from several beaches.  Our farm faces the west, so the sunsets over the fields are incredible.  Our farm field is currently planted with soybeans, and we have indoor dogs, indoor/outdoor cats, free range chickens and local bees. 
Although it is a busy place, it is incredibly quiet here and you will have the best sleep of your life!

We are local to the area, and can help you plan anything you want to do here, and even give you a ride if you are in a pinch.  We are happy to provide anything extra you need for your stay - if we don't have it, we probably know someone who does!
As parents of 4 children under 10 years old, we understand the need for parents and couples to get away and focus on themselves.  We want your stay with us to be relaxing and for you to have all the privacy you want.  We are looking forward to sharing our property with you!

This lodging is a summer highlight!

We are HAPPY repeat visitors to this property and it has become a highlight of our summer! We have a family home 20 minutes away that we stay most of the day, but is filled to the brim for special occasions so we are very happy to escape to our 8 BARE FEET getaway!There are so many amenities, goodies, and surprises that Audrey and Andrew provide, it could verywell be a stand alone vacation destination as well!We look forward to figuring out how to create our next adventure that involves still another stay! Amazing time in South Haven

My partner and I stayed for a long weekend and had an absolutely lovely time. Audrey was wonderful and had great recommendations for nearby restaurants. The fresh eggs and snacks she provided were delicious. The home was clean and cozy and we loved snacking on the raspberries planted nearby. The absolute highlight of the weekend was kit kat, the farm cat that loved to cuddle. It was a very relaxing getaway and we can’t wait to come back.

This is a perfect couples getaway. Audrey is so warm and welcoming. It is nestled in the country with anything you would possibly need for your stay. A private outdoor seating area. You could her the eight bare feet playing in the distance

Perfect getaway

We need to get out of the city and disconnect from our busy lives and eternally “connected” internet dependency. We adored this little place, a place that not only fit our needs but also gave hundreds of extra joys! The host, Audrey, was very communicative. The tub area is cozy, and recently enclosed by a dome! … For the first time we could be in a tub with our dogs nearby so they didn’t stress. The tub area is aesthetically pleasing and dialed in. We brought foodstuffs, but the host also had a lot of goodies, some local. We won’t ruin the surprise, but we got something that rhymed with shminamon shrolls. We enjoyed every hour of this experience!

Very satisfied return customers

This is our second time staying at the Love Shack. We eat and shop in both Saugatuck and South Haven when we're in the area; the Love Shack is conveniently located in between both. The Shack is comfortable, clean and cozy--the perfect space for a quiet weekend away. Audrey and her husband are excellent hosts, very attentive, but also good about granting privacy. Both times, Audrey has provided plenty of snacks and offered to provide a hot meal. She's a fantastic cook/baker! We will definitely be back again.

Relaxing & delicious

Audrey & family were so incredibly generous. We stayed over Thanksgiving for our anniversary and first time empty nesters and they invited us to be part of their family for the day. Audrey is also an amazing cook and made breakfast for us and fixed our super early dinner reservation to a more reasonable dinner time for our anniversary. It was relaxing and so what we needed. South Haven is a cute little town. We came when it was cold. And we will be back when it’s warm and we can enjoy the beaches.

Wonderful!!

We had the most amazing stay!! The host went above and beyond. Everything was clean and neat. She had a pantry filled with various snacks and cold drinks in the refrigerator. She offered to make dinner for us both evenings. We were around the 1st night and dinner was absolutely delicious. She property was very quiet. I would highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be returning!!

Wonderful place to stay.

This is one of our more memorable Vrbo stays. The location is special and Audrey went above and beyond any other host we have had in the past to ensure we had a great stay. While the location is a short drive from places to visit, it is centrally located between multiple wonderful destinations and the fact it is a short drive makes it a wonderfully relaxing place to stay. We felt extremely welcomed and relaxed in our surroundings. We would definitely recommend to others.

Great honeymoon

The best!

This was our first ever vrbo stay and we absolutely loved our few nights stay here and hope to be back asap! We traveled with our lil toddler and he had a blast with walking the grounds full of friendly chickens and fun areas he could explore. The pool and hot tub was amazing and we made use of it as much as possible. The cottage was perfectly sized for two adults and our lil guy in a pack n play. Audrey and Andy were the most gracious and accommodating hosts we could have ever imagined. From the home cooked dinner, to the freshly stocked fridge, pantry, baby gear, farmers market goodies, beach gear, bathroom necessities, and anything else you could think if needing, they provided with a smile and were always quick to communicate as needed or to offer up fun activity options nearby. The location provided a perfect amount of privacy and peacefulness. Having access to a washer and dryer was great with all of our pool and beach adventures so we could keep up with the wet clothes. We enjoyed being able to cook meals in the little stove and toaster areas and we were delighted to utilize veggies freshly picked from their garden. I can’t say enough great things about our stay and have already recommended to our friends and family for a perfect getaway with sweet hosts in a beautiful, serene location not too far out of town from the downtown South Haven area.

Perfect peaceful getaway

We had an amazing time getting away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. Audrey was the best host, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay! The property is very beautiful and extremely peaceful, watching the sunset from the hot tub was an added bonus! Our puppy Rubie, had the best weekend here too and loved running around in the yard! Thank you for your amazing hospitality Audrey, we had the best time!

Relaxing Getaway!

Charming, quiet, delightful little "cottage style" place. Perfect for our 25th Anniversary. Host was very accommodating, bringing us a home-made dinner our first night there and having a beautiful bouquet of fresh cut flowers for us when we arrived. Short drive to the town of South Haven. Had everything we needed, including a small private hot-tub! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already recommended it to our family.

A Hidden Gem

Audrey and Andy were the best VRBO hosts! The well-stocked fridge was amazing and included many local seasonal favorites as well as farm-fresh eggs. The cottage was very modern and comfortable. The little patio and hot tub added a special charm. Our dogs enjoyed the outdoor space as well. The entire visit was peaceful and romantic. We hope to return there in the future!

Cute, private South Haven cottage

We have VRBO'd from Atlantic to Pacific as well as points in between, but this property by far is absolutely run exceptionally! Clean, super comfortable and GENEROUSLY supplied with provisions, snacks and wonderful breakfast items. Lovely fresh flowers on the table and fresh baked goods and produce from a local Dutch farm market that we also managed to visit almost everyday! They welcomed us and our Dog who now thinks we should buy her - her own CHICKEN to run around our house like at the Litts VRBO! Audry offered lovely homemade breakfast treats and we took her up on delicious, homemade bagels the last day. Andrew was very handy and available for lighting a firepit on our private patio where we could have also used a hot tub! They also invited us to use their lovely pool. We are working hard to find a reason to return as soon as we can. We were most welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our get away!

We loved the shack! It’s situated on a beautiful piece of property. The inside was clean and decorated very pretty. Audrey was very easy to get in touch with and very generous with the food she left for us. It was cozy and peaceful. Exactly what we had in mind and we would definitely stay again!

Perfect Country Escape!

This is the perfect place to stay for two people! It is close enough to town to spend all day in South Haven and not worry about the drive, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. Audrey is an amazing host, she went into town to get us gluten free snacks and bread, and had a fridge stocked with options for us. She responded quickly and brought us anything we might need!

Relaxing get away

The little home was perfectly cozy and Audrey was so kind to stock the fridge with goodies and food for breakfast. She even made a delicious cake! We immediately felt at home. Even though the hosts live on the property, the home feels very private as it is set away from the main house and you have a private drive. Location is amazing. Not far from South Haven and there are several amazing wineries and nature areas nearby too. Whether you want to go out and explore or just stay in, this place is perfect for both.
