Oceanfront Cottage: Where Natural Beauty Meets Modern Comfort

The Creekside Cottage is a newly renovated, modern two-story vacation home situated on a park-like, six-acre oceanfront property known as the Seaward Estate. Historically, Seaward was one of five salmon trap sites along the Juan de Fuca Strait until the 1950s.

Seaward offers a variety of stunning natural landscapes, including two beaches with thousands of feet of picturesque coastline, West Coast forest, and woodland trails. It remains one of the most exceptional oceanfront properties in the Greater Victoria Region. With real estate values steadily increasing over the past two decades, many high-quality oceanfront properties have been subdivided and redeveloped. A large, original oceanfront estate like Seaward—preserved in its natural beauty and historical integrity—is truly rare.

The Creekside Cottage is located beside a small, natural creek and offers over 1,400 square feet of living space. The main floor features an open-concept layout with a living room, dining area, and kitchen. A south-facing wall of floor-to-ceiling windows provides breathtaking views of the Juan de Fuca Strait and the Olympic Mountains. A cozy patio offers outdoor seating, a dining table, and a BBQ for guests to enjoy.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. The first is a loft-style room with a king-size bed, open to the living space below, with windows facing south directly toward the ocean. The second bedroom features a queen-size bed and three windows—one facing south toward the ocean and the other two overlooking the gardens and ocean to the west. A full bathroom with laundry facilities is located on the second floor, and a powder room is available on the main floor. Additionally, a small attic space accessible from the second bedroom provides the perfect hideaway for young children. A sofa bed in the living room offers extra sleeping accommodations.

A beach house on East Beach provides a place for children to play and adults to relax. Naturally, guests love spending time on the beaches. The East Beach features a flatter, pebbled surface, ideal for walking, while the West Beach offers giant rocks, hidden coves, and secret spots perfect for adventure. Many guests enjoy exploring the forest trails. Benches at the end of the Sunset Trail and Otter Trail are perfect for reading, wildlife watching, or enjoying a sunset. Others like to plan a picnic—whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner—on the picnic deck at the end of the Orca Trail.

The Seaward Estate includes Rose Cottage (Vrbo 1333347), Rowan Cottage (Vrbo 1340568), and Creekside Cottage (Vrbo 2229506). Creekside Cottage is about 50 feet from Rowan Cottage and 200 feet from Rose Cottage. All cottages are oriented with windows facing the ocean. None of the cottages have windows that directly face each other, ensuring privacy for all guests.

Weekly rate: $1,212.75 for 7 days ( from January 1st to March 15th only)

Monthly rate: $3927 for 28 days ( from January 1st to March 15th only)

This is such a great place to relax and enjoy the property. We spend hours just chilling and watching the ocean. We saw Orcas, seals and otters from the patio and down at the beach. Without a doubt, this is one of our favorite places to stay. Our dog loves it too.

Yes, it is a great property with a beautiful view. Very serene. The kitchen is very well stocked. We've been to the Sooke area many times and this place was just perfect. We will look into booking it again for next year.

The Creekside Cottage was a fabulous place to stay for a few days right on the water. Checking in was very easy with just the electronc door code required. We were able to watch many boats fishing for salmon and even saw a few whales! The kitchen was decently equiped for making meals

It’s an amazing location overall - an absolutely amazing view from all points, huge private territory including two beautiful and wild beaches - there is no reason to go to other beaches around, you will own even better ones. Our golden enjoyed everything as we did. Check -in, check-out process was very easy and straightforward - thanks to very clear instructions and prompt communication from Wally and Kristi! The kitchen facilities are very good - they everything we needed. It was an amazing week for us. Highly recommend to book it months or even a year in advance because it’s very popular!

Beautiful spot and responsive hosts

Beautiful location with clean, well stocked cabin. Very responsive host! I messaged about batteries going dead in the lock on the door which was not a problem as they had a back up system in place but just to let them know for the next people. Within 2 hours, they had someone over to replace them.

Island getaway

We had a wonderful weekend at Creekside Cottage. The grounds are amazing. We could sit and watch the water for hours. Always something to see out there. The place is perfect as described. Comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchen. Everything is well thought out including a nice coffee machine that does both k cups and brewed coffee. Highly recommend!

Best view, great hospitality!

We loved our stay at Creekside cottage. We had great communication with the host, from the time of booking to the end of our stay. Ray, the caretaker, is truly a gem, and made sure we were well stocked with coffee, shampoo, soap, towels, etc. The view of the sea from the loft bedroom, as well as the living room, is amazing. As others noted, the loft is open to the floor below, so if you are not an early riser and your partner is, you may want to sleep in the other bedroom, which is equally comfortable, and has great views as well. Everything is extremely well laid out, and we felt very private, even with the other two cottages occupied. The view of the strait is so mesmerizing that I'm surprised we left the cottage at all, but we had fun exploring all the regional and community parks in the area, and did lots of hiking and general exploring. I give my highest recommendation for this property.

Perfect for a city detox

We loved our stay at the Oceanfront property, everything was exactly as you see in the pictures, the small town of Sooke is perfect for all your essential needs, would not hesitate booking this property again, it was exactly what was needed for couple getaway

Absolutely beautiful!

We had a wonderful stay. Our one regret we couldn’t stay longer. The grounds were just beautiful. We’ve done a lot of travel and usually don’t do repeat visits but we would love to come back there one day.

Great in every way!

We were completely delighted with our recent stay at Creekside Cottage. It has excellent amenities, and is roomy, comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The setting and landscaping are gorgeous. It really has a terrific view of the ocean, even better than we expected.The location is perfect for folks like us who like something tucked away and idyllic, but don’t want to be too isolated. This feels very private, but is an easy hop to Sooke.We also really enjoyed our chats with caretaker Ray, who is very friendly and approachable and has a wealth of information about the area.In short, Seaward Cottages is a great place to stay, and we definitely plan to return!

Amazing views!

Creekside Cottage was the perfect place for our girls getaway. Lots of room and the cottage had everything we needed. It was a great location, with many popular hiking, restaurants and beaches close by to explore. Ray, the maintenance manager, was also very attentive and provided extra towels and blankets. Hope to be back someday!

Breathe and Relax

We wanted an ocean-front property where we could just sit, relax, walk on the beach, or sit near the shore watching and listening to the ocean…and this served our purpose wonderfully. Well-equipped home, with stunning views. Lovely paths/stairs to either beach with well maintained trail. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the incredible view. We didn’t leave the property for the duration of our visit. Large main floor, with all kinds of seating to enjoy the view, and all the kitchen amenities you could want. Upstairs with two bedrooms is cozy, with a shared bathroom. Both rooms have lots of space, and the one has a secret stairway to a kids’ place space. King bed is in a loft and open to below, but it has the most incredible views to wake up to! Some traffic noise from the main road, but the waves and the wind tend to drown it all out. Our first visit, but certainly won’t be our last. It was everything we hoped for!
