"This is the first negative review I've ever had to give. We stayed at The Golden Lion Hotel St. Ives. (13-14 Feb) We stayed in Room 20 which was very small and had the constant, very loud noise of the kitchen extractor humming. On the first night it was still on at 10.45pm and we had to ask Reception to deal with it and then it was back on, waking us up at 7pm. "The Kings suite was amazing. The bed was so comfortable. The kitchenette was useful, as was the separate seating area. The bath in the bedroom was a delight. The candles in the room were a nice touch. The decor was classy. Overall we loved our stay. Thank you"

"The property was welcoming to pets. They aren't set up for anyone requiring a shower seat. The room was a good size but the bed wasn't very comfortable. One of the rooms needed to be swapped because the toilet wouldn't flush. The staff were really helpful and friendly."

"The room is with nice deco, clean and spacious. Very comfortable. However, the breakfast is far from standard. For example, fried eggs were as tough as rubber and I couldn’t cut them with knife, sausages were dry and also difficult to cut. I had just eaten one slice of toast and that’s it. Other food were left on the plate. Seriously breakfast needs to have big improvement. "

"I’m sorry to say the property was not what I expected ! No hot water so I couldn’t have a shower when I got there at 9pm or one when I had my hospital appointment at 8am. so I wasn’t best pleased. And to top it off the heater in the room is not fit for purpose it was freezing I will go there ever again. I will be requesting a refund as the hotel is not a nice place to stay. But I will say the staff were pleasant but I didn’t go there to talk to the staff. "
