"The hotel has only been open for 3 weeks, which is probably 6 weeks too soon!! The room was not finished - locks missing on bathroom door (just a hole waiting for the lock); no curtains or blind in the lounge area - the hot sun blazed in throughout the day and neighbouring rooms could see in, and finally, no air conditioning - the control panels are there, but not connected to anything. I REPEAT ... NO AIR CONDITIONING. The day was very sunny and very hot and the room could not be cooled down...

"Lodge was really nice and clean and it was a really nice experience. However a few lights either didn't work or had no bulb in, the hall way light didn't work and when it was dark you couldn't see where you was going and the light outside the hot tub but this wasn't so bad as you had the fairy lights which gave a bit of light. "Comfortable cosy stay in lovely, clean cottage which is dog friendly. Situated minutes from shops meaning you can easily get your essentials or grab a drink in a lovely pub. Nice location and suitable base to drive to other parts of the region. The cottage was clean and presented as described. WiFi was excellent throughout ( I know that’s required for some, but not us) Has a small back garden, which is gated and perfect for dogs to stretch their legs."

"We spent 2 nights in Woodlands Cottage and loved it. It was spotlessly clean with new bathrooms and a well appointed kitchen. The directions sent in advance were great, as was the tip to use the shortcut through the woods to the local pub. For a local walk, the Bubwith Rail path was really nice."

"Clean and comfortable. Glad we were no more than 4 adults as there is only one bathroom. We booked through vrbo but then ended up dealing with an outfit called Sykes Cottages who ended up charging us more (not a lot more but more than the ad quoted) and they were a nightmare to deal with. Their intervention felt like a scam. Luckily our stay was enjoyable but Sykes should be avoided. "
