Once referred to as "Little Venice" in the 1800's due to its river-centric trade and transport system, Skamokowa is nestled secretively along the creeks and sloughs of the lower Columbia River and surrounded by lush, bucolic countryside. It's tiny but delightfully self-sufficient with its one grocery store, cafe, book and gift shop, museum and public boat launch ramp. There' s a small offering of inns and B&B's in the area. So quiet and peaceful. My favorite spot is the screened in porch! We were welcomed with delicious chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls. We will definitely be returning.

Nice cabin, well equipped in good location. My mother in law would have liked a grab bar in the bathroom as the toilet was a little low for her. And the oven was limited to a small toaster oven but all workable

The home is beautifully decorated and updated. It was disappointing to not be able to stream movies at night, and have no Internet. Wi-Fi didn’t work either.
