"I booked my reservation through Expedia. And I chose book now, pay at property. The day of my check in the hotel tried to run my card information without my knowledge and consent. I made 3 reservations for myself and other in my party, and they tried to run my card for all 3 before we had even checked in. And because the payment would not go through they cancelled the reservation. When I got to the hotel, the staff member said it was their policy to run a card to see if payment would go process....

"We stayed in a two-queen-bed suite and were impressed by how spacious it was. The hotel is relatively new, and everything—from the room to the common areas—felt clean and well-maintained. That said, the hotel gets extremely busy on weekends, especially during events like the Jefferson’s Cup. With so many families staying there, it can get quite noisy at night, with kids running through the hallways and in nearby rooms. "Easily one of the most genuinely charming and historic hotels that I have stayed in, and I’ve stayed in a lot. The rooms were huge, the ceilings high, and the mattresses newly replaced (the old ones were behind the building in an alley, waiting to be disposed). They were so comfortable we actually stripped the bed in our room to find out the make. Also, the people at the desk were very friendly and seemed to take a lot of pride in their property. "

"Definitely needs refurbishment. Our bathroom sink did not drain, the curtains were torn, the bathroom hook was missing. The room was clean, but it definitely needs updating. Also, the $10 per day fee for parking is ridiculous. It’s a suburban hotel with a large self park lot. We’ve stayed here a lot over the years and it was kind of sad seeing it look so rundown. I’m not sure we would stay there again in the future."

"I stayed here once before and this time was a very similar experience. The staff is nice enough, if a bit disorganized. My room was fine, but noisy. The wifi was awful and I was told that was probably because the hotel was full. Breakfast is ordered at a counter in the lobby and delivered to your table, but my order was lost and had to be placed again. The entire experience was very impersonal. "
