The structure was nice.There were no outside garbage cans. We were told to leave the bag in front. The animals ripped it apart. We rebadged it twice only to have garbage scattered all over. The host was informed but left scattered garbage for two days. We wanted to cook but there was such a short supply of cookware. Then we found the dishwasher full of dirty dishes from prior guests. The hot tub was unusable. It was dirty. The headrest was hanging on and had mold on it. The deck was so full of leaves and debris that it was not usable. The front plate of the microwave is hanging off it’s hard to press buttons. Two of the four burners on the stove don’t work. The lamp in the bedroom was broken. Hard to see when getting up at night. Huge shortages on supplies ie three rolls of toilet paper for two people for four days. I was told I had use the pier at my own risk. It’s too dangerous per Leon. (Amenity?). The last straw was finding towels and washcloths in the wash with floor mops!!!I’m pretty sure this is a violation I left a letter for Leon with some concerns however like with everything else no response.I have stayed in Virbos all over the US and never been so dissatisfied and disappointed

We very much enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The photos are accurate. The hot tub was wonderful. Kitchen utensils were well stocked, but could have used more plates, wine glasses, etc. We ate 2 meals in and had to wash dishes after each meal. Unit could also used more hooks -either in hallway or bathrooms for wet towels (from both bath and hot tub) Basement closet was unusable. No rod or hangers. We loved looking out over the lake and used the deck as weather permitted. It's a nice spot to relax after a busy day exploring the area.

The cabin is simple but comfortable. The lake view is beautiful! It is in a quiet neighborhood with narrow streets. We were able to check in early. We felt very safe and enjoyed the view of the lake from the cabin. It was too cold and windy to be outside. Close proximity to Amish community. Some suggestions for the owner: Window blinds on the large windows for nighttime, soap in the showers and dishwasher detergent for the dishwasher. The bedrooms are large enough for king size beds but only have doubles. Brush needs to be cleared for easy access to the lake. We would be happy to stay there again.

Only a couple hours away from Chicago, this home allows you to unplug and unwind. The home has everything you need, tucked inbetween farmland and the woods. We explored Shipshewana during the day, went fishing at dusk, sat by the fire when the sun went down and finished the day with a relaxing dip in the huge hot tub. It was great!

The cabin was so clean and cozy. There were so many personal touches to it. We had storms the first two nights. The electricity went out, but wasn't out more than 2 hours. The hot tub is so clean and was a wonderful addition.

Old college friends meeting up once a year for antiquing, no cooking, no husbands and lots of conversation. We enjoyed a two night stay. Plenty of space for 2. Each of us had our own bed and full bath (up bath is a shower only). One of each on the main floor and in the basement. Minimal but nice decor. Wished we brought binoculars. Pretty view of the lake. A decent walk to the dock. Mown path. A killer climb back up if you have sciatica and bad knees. We didnt spend much time in the back. However a great sapce for kids to play, fishing off the dock and just relaxing watching the flock of swans that resides at the lake. The cabin has a nice deck, plenty of seating. The area is really beautiful. Pristine Amish farms, way more horses than people! Practice patience while driving in this area, especially on friday night. It was a show of lit up buggies, horses and Amish families. Very busy on the roadways that night. Is this where the saying "Friday go to meetin..." came from? Lots to see and do in the area. Highly recommend this location and cabin on Lake Shipshewana. Thank you for sharing your comfy cottage!

An adorable log cabin with incredible lake views. Hot tub was perfect. Had amazing time in Shipshewana with girlfriends, going to the flea market , riding in a buggy and eating an authentic Amish meal in an Amish home.

We enjoyed our stay in the Cozy Amish Cabin. The cabin was very clean and the owners were easy to contact and great to deal with. The weather was unseasonably warm and we enjoyed several hours on the deck, taking in the view and the sunshine. Distance to Shipshewana and local businesses is only a few miles, easy to get to shop/eat and at the same time relax in the quiet of the lake cabin! We have stayed at several VRBO’s and this was the first one where after our stay the owner sent a message thanking us for our stay and asking if there was any way they could improve the cabin. We had two minor suggestions that only if you stayed there you would notice. I am confident that the minor repair and additional glassware will be attended to before the next guest arrives. When we travel back to Shipshewana, this cabin will be the first home we check for availability. Check it out - you will be glad you did.

The only thing that didn't work was the electric fireplace downstairs, everything else was great. They even let me check in early which was nice. I would def stay again. Thanks.
