Very modern hotel in the Pudong area of the city. Located on the metro ( lines 4 & 14) so very convenient to get around the city. 20 minute walk to the business centre towers such as the Shanghai tower. Rooms are well appointed, although I don't get the logic behind the light switch locations. It's a puzzle to figure out. Carpets def need cleaning, makes one appreciate the complimentary room slippers. One star off because the pool was closed for no apparent reason, and after a summer day hoofing around the city, that swim was very much missed. I would go back.

Service was exceptional from all staff. Basic English communication was good, location is excellent and literally steps away from Waitan tourist areas. Lots of crowds always outside the front doors because of the history of the building. Guests can take a free guided tour (Mandarin and English) of the building and learn about the history. Nightly live jazz music and entertainment which was great (minimum spend rules may apply).
