"An outstanding place and excellent host. The prairie setting is absolutely sublime, and the house was clean and cozy. It had everything we needed, including fresh cookies! We wish we would have stayed longer. Kevin was very responsive to our messages and even gave us a tour of his incredible prairie and grounds. You won’t find another place like this: it’s a complete original. Looking for an excuse to come back again for a longer stay."

"Our family had a good time and are so thankful for such gracious hosts. Our car broke down and was in the repair shop for 3 days of our time there. We needed a back up plan and the hosts made sure we could stay there if needed. So thankful! We will be back!"

"Oh my word this place is incredible. Bed was comfortable great location and the original aspects of the old building brought up to date with modern convenience. I think Jennifer and I will be getting more acquainted because I have a hard time finding a decent place to stay when I come to my hometown to visit. Carlinville is good little town close to my hometown and made attending my best friends wedding in Gillespie a breeze. We will be back."

She was quick to respond to any request and reached out to us when we left something behind. We were able to retrieve it before leaving town. It was a lovely place to stay. Highly recommended."
