Hoegger’s Rustic Retreat is in the country with lots of wildlife & room to roam!

The cozy cabin sits on 20 acres of high fenced land and surrounded by farm/ranch land! We have lots of wildlife including deer, sheep, goats, llamas, peacocks, chickens and a donkies for you to feed, pet or just enjoy! You can see the sun set over the wheat field to the West or watch the sun rise over the animals grazing in the pasture.

My family and I had a great time here. We walked a trail, fed emus, donkeys, calf's, deer, llamas, and collected eggs. My kids loved playing on the hay bales, listening to the deep thump of the emu and the overall experiences. My eldest loved playing on the piano, my daughters enjoyed playing with the cats and and my two sons loved the outdoors. We all voted to come back. The hosts were generous, supportive, helpful and kind. Thank you Jeff and Missy for a wonderful new set of memories. 10 out 10.

Great place to get away from city life

Peaceful. Great for kiddos with wide open space to play without the worries of city threats. Great experience with animals with fresh eggs every morning. Great place for family fun.

Great Weekend Stay

This is our second visit to this retreat, our favorite place to go for rest and relaxation. The house is perfect, the animals are great, the atmosphere inside and outside are truly beautiful. This is a place to go if you want quality time together and enjoy the wildlife. It is isolated and that is what we enjoy. The hosts are so great. We plan on another visit here in the fall.

Peace and Quiet

This was the most peaceful and enjoyable country home we have stayed at me my wife and daughter and nephew stated here for 3 days, .We needed a break from the busy city and enjoyed are stay the goats and chickens and other animals were are favorite fresh chicken eggs and raw milk were delicious the property owners Melissa and her husband were very nice and, helpful we look forward to returning in the future and recommend staying here very much.😊

Peaceful

We stayed seven nights here in Scotland TX. From the wonderful long road to the house to the grand entrance of the farm it was hands down the greatest trip I’ve been too in many many years.we came to this part of Texas for a special reason. My wife was from this part of TX and had passed away two years earlier. I brought her back to make full circle of her life. We stayed in what we say hands down the most amazing place,the quietest place and by far the peacefulness place I’ve ever been too. I’ve stayed in some of the top places you can go to in Atlanta GA and New York city and as far as we are concerned this was the greatest.peacefully,spot there is. From the beginning to the end of the stay it was awesome.the farm animals were awesome. The house was so clean and perfect. The owners of the property definitely went the extra mile and their hospitality was great and we totally enjoyed the fresh milk and eggs that were provided. It was a great stay under my circumstances. I would highly recommend the stay to anyone. Weather it’s a personal trip or for work you will not regret the stay.grade AAAAA +++++.Thank you all once again for a spectacular time.thank you. PS: we traveled 1100 miles to stay at this very one spot.Best wishes and safe travels.

Wonderful Stay in Scotland!

Family of four stayed at the property in February 2023. Had a great stay! Close enough to Wichita Falls and the AFB to drive back and forth easily if needed. The place was clean and comfortable - nice kitchen and great seating area with large TV and a nice patio. The best part was OUTSIDE! Awesome property with farm animals to interact with - the host even provided food pellets so we could feed them. So relaxing. We will definitely stay there again when in the area. THANKS to the hosts for a nice stay!

Scotland Get Away

We could not have picked a better place to stay. Close to family that we needed to see and far enough from the city to have peace and quiet. This beautiful place allows you and your family to spend quality time together and enjoy the wonderful countryside of Texas. We were so pleased with the accommodation in the home and the friendly nature of the host. This place is amazing!

Loved it!

The cabin is open and comfortable, very clean and well maintained. Everything you could possibly need is there. We spent most of our time on the back porch enjoying all the animals and the peace and quiet. The owners are great hosts. Such a great few days enjoying this cabin. We will go back in September for our anniversary.
