Shepherd Cottage -

Historic Shepherd Cottage is one of the original surviving early cottages of 'Old Grayton Beach', established in the 1880's. This cottage has been updated with a new kitchen, central heat and air, with emphasis on preserving its original characteristics. It is a small cottage and is ideal for a romantic getaway for a couple.

The cottage is nestled in tall pines and surrounded by palm meadows with a large front porch with swing and rocking chairs. It is a great place to relax, and within easy walking distance to the Gulf Beach, Western Lake, Red Bar Restaurant, Zoo Gallery, General Store, Hibiscus Guest House and Cafe, Grayton Coffee House, etc. You can also rent bikes at the General store and enjoy miles and miles of off road paved bike paths through the Grayton Beach State Park, Watercolor, Seaside, etc.

ALL ON ONE LEVEL: Cozy front porch, Living room with flatscreen TV, Dining room with table seating for 4, Bedroom with Queen bed, Full bathroom with shower only, Twin bed nook off living area, Full kitchen, Washer and dryer, Back porch with grill and outdoor shower.

The cottage was like something from a storybook and we enjoyed every minute! It is walking distance to Crackings (best breakfast on 30A), Red Bar, and our favorite beach access. We are already trying to decide when we can come back!

Love this little cottage! Only things we had some trouble with is my husband is very tall, the shower head is very low and the toilet area very tight and narrow. Otherwise, we loved it. We would definitely go back even with that.

Location was great. Shepherd’s Cottage had the charm and ambience just as advertised. Very quiet, too.The reason for 4 stars were the following:1. ONE roll of toilet paper. Really?2. NO written instructions for the TV which would be easy to do and laminate for guests. In addition, portal would ask for my email (which I supplied) etc. but I could not access.

We enjoyed the cabin. Although it was next to several homes it was very private and peaceful. Cabin had everything we needed for a long weekend stay. Just a short 5-6 minute walk to the beach or riding the free shuttle. Easy walk to the downtown. The outdoor shower was great after being at the beach so we didn't drag sand into the home. We spent evenings relaxing on the porch swing.

Quaint, historical property in a wonderful location. The rental agency is right across the street and very responsive. I would recommend the property for a couple, but any more than two guests is a tight squeeze.

Great customer service

The property was super cute and clean. The customer service was great, we locked ourselves out and they resolved the problem immediately. They also communicated well, and notified us the property was 2 hours early and could check in early free of charge!

Underwhelmed with the stay

The cabin was lovely and clean. However we were cold, even with the heat running a lot. Lots of cold coming in through the doors.There was a blackout for a few hours on the second day, which did not help the situation. We understand that is not the owner fault. But when we realized after the electricity was restored, that we had no hot water to shower, we were offered no solution by the manager. We paid a lot of money for this rental and don't feel like we got the value for what we paid. I would not go back.

Grayt Beach “Camp”

The cottage was perfect for our getaway and we had bikes delivered to the property right before we checked in and enjoyed exploring the area, State Parks, and the beautiful beaches that surround Grayton. We loved the outdoor shower and grill and the front porch swing was perfect for happy hour. We will definitely be back!

Cozy cabin with a tin roof porch

We enjoyed staying in this Grayton beach historic home. There is a lot to love about this quirky cabin. The Grayton shuttle makes this location more desirable as they pick you up and drop you off right across the street. The drivers are friendly and helpful - a wonderful service. I’m not giving a 5 star bc the kitchen is lacking and so is lighting on the back porch. The washer and dryer are outside making it difficult to do laundry in the dark or in the rain- the only time i want to do laundry. If you don’t plan to cook or do laundry on your holiday (i hope you don’t) this there is not a thing wrong with this gem! If it should rain while you are there you will love the tin roof on the front porch!

Very cute…mostly satisfied.

My main issue is I did not realize it was on a busy road. From the photos it looks like it’s in the woods. A few easy fixes would improve rating. Close to great bars and restaurants plus beach although r weather was wet and windy
