Easy to get around and in a great location for exploring both Calabria and Sicily. I actually spent the first 5 days driving around Sicily. The host was incredibly helpful. Hotel had good amenities, lovely pool area with lots of sun loungers and waking through the apartments you are the beautiful private beach (cost €6 a day to hire a lounger).
