Renovated in 2015, we took the beach house from the 50's and brought it into the new century. Torn down to studs, everything is brand new with all of the great upgrades including quartzite counter-tops, all new appliances, new cabinets throughout, solid wood doors, cool flooring, awesome lighting fixtures, ETC.

My favorite place is the large covered deck overlooking the ocean. You can hear the sounds, smell the mist and enjoy the views of this one of a kind California Cove called Avila Beach. Super clean and comfortable for up to 6 people.

We are only a few blocks from all of the Avila downtown action, yet we are still out of the crowds and commotion. Great for relaxing when you want to chill at the house, but still only a short walk to the beach, coffee shops, restaurants, bars and ice cream shops.

We offer three off-street parking spots which is critical on most every weekend.

From the downstairs master bedroom there is a courtyard under the ocean side deck, great for storing bikes.

The home was refreshed in March 2026 with several upgrades, including three new mattresses, updated primary bedroom furniture, new dining furniture, a new BBQ, two new patio chairs on the deck, and new carpeting.

Perfect Getaway

I rarely give 5-star reviews but this property deserves it. Our family loved the home, the location, the VIEW. Nicely updated and well appointed. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Fun spot

The house is nicely located near Avila Beach, which has a gorgeous beach, pier and numerous shops and restaurants. The deck at the house overlooks the beach and is very private. Nice kitchen and two full baths. Highly recommended.

Relaxation Seems in the Air Along with Opportunities for Adventure

We fell in love with Avila Beach. It’s a great place for jumping off to adventure such as ziplining, riding Clydesdales, wine tasting, hiking, boat rides, whale watching and a beautiful coastline state park at Montana de Oreo State Park. There is some pretty good tide pooling to be enjoyed on this coastline. The light show in Pao Robles is wonderful. Or skip all this and just chill to the sound of the waves crashing.

Great Stay

My wife and I, along with two friends, had a great stay in Avila. The house was all the photos showed except, as has been noted in other reviews, the two stuffed chairs in the living room really do need to be replaced.

Ocean view great location

Comfortable house with an ocean view and sounds of the waves throughout the day, especially when sitting out on the deck. Plenty of room for everyone, just be aware bedrooms are downstairs, so you will need to haul luggage up and down. The cable TV was not working during our stay and we did contact and received a prompt response from our contact. The issue could not be resolved, we made do with what we had. Also tried to use the outdoor grill, but decided not to because it was pretty old and not clean, we just used the oven. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, dishes, etc., I would only comment that there was only 1 wine glass and we needed 4. Downstairs shower-head needs replacing or descaling, but there was a handheld sprayer that was good. The house appears to have recently been upgraded and is in a good area, very close to the town and other attractions.

Beautiful view

The view from the back patio was breathtaking. Hours were spent on the patio enjoying it. The house was very nice, but my only negative comment was the furniture in the main living space. It has quite a bit of wear and one chair had a large rip in the cushion. We covered it with a pillow and did not use it, but was very surprising due to quality of the rest of the house. Kitchen and bathrooms were top notch!

Great Stay in Avila Beach

We spent three weeks at this lovely beach house and thoroughly enjoyed it. The large covered upstairs deck with great ocean and sunset views was the highlight. We spent a lot of time there reading and relaxing, especially on rainy days. The upstairs living space is roomy and comfortable, with a well-appointed kitchen. The master bedroom is large, with a very comfy bed, walk-in closet, and large bathroom with nice shower. The house is in an ideal location, in a quiet spot at the end of town yet only a block to the ocean and a few blocks to shops and restaurants. Comments from other reviewers that the combo washer/dryer is not suitable for doing a lot of laundry are accurate. It was not a problem for us; there is a large and nice self-service laundromat (SLO Laundry on Los Osos Valley Rd) where we got a weeks' worth laundry done in two hours. Overall, we highly recommend this rental and look forward to returning.

Beautiful Home with a view.

This home is beautiful with a lovely large deck that has a peekaboo view of Avila Beach and ocean. Short two block walk to restaurants, coffee shop and boutique shops. The home is decorated nicely and was very comfortable to hang out in with our family. We cooked a Thanksgiving meal in the large well equipped kitchen. We loved our stay and hope to be back soon. Thank you!

Birthday getaway

This property is beautiful and so clean. The kitchen is completely stocked and we easily prepared some meals there. The deck has a nice view and the pictures in the ad are accurate. The house in front of this property is under construction but the workers we saw were courteous and extremely quiet! We enjoyed mornings and evenings in the upper deck and again, this neighborhood was very quiet. It was wonderful. The house is at the top of the hill so the walk up is steep but not worrying about parking was great. The leather couches and chairs could stand to be replaced but everything was so clean and fresh. Avila is a quaint little town and we always enjoy visiting. Our contact for the property was very pleasant and prompt and extremely helpful. FIVE GREAT BIG STARS

Funtimes with family of four

Great location and great use of kitchen. We cooked many of our meals there as it was such a big kitchen to cook in. The hosts provided everything from cooking oil to seasonings. The beds were comfy and hearing the waves at night was just fabulous. The only downside was the laundry machine... seems old and rusty but that might be due to the hard-water that is prevalent for the area (we just didn't use the laundry machine as we were there under a week so saved laundry for home)... a water softener might help as we also have hard water and it is a doozie on appliances and hardware. The sofa and chairs might need an update as the leather seemed to be rubbed off or cracked. It is a great location where we could go into San Luis Obispo one day and Hearst Castle another day. We also enjoyed the beach walks and the cute stores around town... easily walked into town to get treats or food from the various restaurants. We love Avila beach and thank our hosts for being so considerate on providing such essentials for cooking as a family❤️❤️❤️

Loved everything about it!

Outstanding location with lovely view of the ocean at Avila Brach. The property was clean and had everything we needed. Quiet location with privacy, but just up the hill from the beach and shops of Avila. We hosted some family gatherings while there, and there was plenty of room for everyone in the common area and deck.
