2/10, Horrible

I recently stayed at Amari Hotel San Francisco and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing.
The service was one of the biggest issues. The young woman at the front desk in the mornings was consistently rude and condescending. Simple greetings like “good morning” were ignored, which set a negative tone each day.
The rooms are described as “Victorian style,” but in reality, they feel very outdated. Our toilet had ongoing issues—it was temporarily “fixed” with what appeared to be a piece of plastic, but it continued making noise throughout the night. Because of this, I often had to go from the 7th floor down to the lobby restrooms, which, ironically, were the cleanest and most updated part of the hotel.
There is no central air conditioning. Instead, they provide old portable fans stored in the closet—I only discovered this on the last day. This is something that should be clearly communicated upfront.
Check-in is strictly at 3 PM, with no flexibility—even for guests traveling long distances. There was no effort to accommodate early arrivals or even offer luggage storage, which was frustrating.
Parking is also misleading. While the hotel advertises “onsite parking,” it is actually a public garage located a couple of buildings up the street, offered at a slight discount. This was inconvenient and not what I expected.
While the hotel is centrally located in San Francisco, it is not worth the cost, inconvenience, or stress.
