The Space:
Welcome to Cabin Fever!

Cabin Fever is a cabin community in Saluda, North Carolina. This private oasis provides peace, comfort, and the opportunity to form lifelong memories on the property. While on the Cabin Fever grounds you will have access to a charcoal grill, two communal fire-pit pavilions with seating, its own small mountain stream with bridge access, outdoor play space, two hiking trails, a family-friendly zip-line, a small pond, water wheel, and so much more!

The Bird’s Nest is Cabin Fever’s version of a “rustic” hotel suite! It offers one king size bed, sleeper sofa, coffee maker, and small refrigerator, flat screen TV with Apple TV connected. Apple TV includes ESPN, Disney, Youtube, Weather Channel plus more. (PLEASE NOTE--Internet is currently slow. We are working to solve this.) Oversized bathroom with shower and Jacuzzi bath-tub, ceiling fan plus gas heat and air conditioning. This is the perfect spot for honeymooners, a couple, or family who want something a little out of the ordinary. It is attached to the caretaker’s lodge with its own private entrance & parking, plus quiet screen porch overlooking waterwheel on small mountain stream.

This room sleeps 2-4 comfortably. Please note this room does not have a buck stove or fire pit outside.

As a hosting family, we strongly believe in making memories wherever you are. That is why we have provided local suggestions so you can enjoy the experience of fully immersing yourself in the local culture. We are here to help with any questions or suggestions as we aim to create memories through Unique Stays!

Please Note: We engage in pest control at all of our properties, however, due to the rural nature of some of our properties guests may encounter insects and other small creatures. This can include ladybugs, flies, scorpions, mice, etc.

The guest count you provide must be accurate as there can be additional guest fees. Notify us if you need to adjust the guest count before arrival. A fine of $25 per night will be applied for each undeclared guest.

Reminder: If a guest missed the checkout time, additional fees will be added. If more than 2 hours past checkout, we will charge for an additional day.

Please bring your own charcoal and fire starter if you would like to enjoy the grill during your stay.

Certain instances may result in fluctuations in the internet speed at Cabin Fever.

We stayed here for a long weekend and had a great time. We visited Little Bradley Falls, which was so much fun! I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Cabin was super cute and clean. We did find a few items left in the fridge, I’m assuming from the previous guests. The bathtub does have a sink faucet, so it’s hard to take a bath as it takes forever to fill. The lock on the cabin door is very iffy. It doesn’t fully lock sometimes, and shakes if you don’t physically pull the door while you lock it. Just be sure to hold the handle when locking. There were minimal bugs and decent wifi connection. Check in & out were seamless and easy. I would stay here again. Great communication from the owners. :)

This was our second time staying at The Bird's Nest Cabin. We loved it. The space was cozy and clean. We were taking our daughter to camp and this was just the right space for us to enjoy the weekend. She was so excited to play on the playground again and adventure on the trail behind our cabin. Thank you for a lovely stay!

My 2nd wedding anniversary

When we first got there we couldn’t locate birds nest cause it’s not on the board signs with arrows pointing in the direction to go,luckily I shine my flashlight and seen it on top of a door frame,they gave us the wrong door code and I called at least 11 times and finally got someone to answer and get us into the cabin..the tub and shower had bugs/spiders in it.. I cleaned it and we had went to eat and came back I put my food in the fridge for maybe 20 minutes and came back and there was bugs everywhere, I had to throw it away and they were on the counter by the coffee bar and toaster and microwave.. I took pictures and videos and sent them to unique stays and they said they were going to call a exterminator right away and talk about compensation and this was yesterday morning and I went through the reviews and just on June 22nd a guest complained about this same very situation and I asked them this morning if you knew about almost 3 weeks ago why didn’t you handle it then and why would you rent this cabin out to somebody else knowing this?? I have not heard anything else back from them and no compensation as well.. I stayed up all night worrying about roaches and spiders and bugs in general..this was my by far worst wedding anniversary ever and I’ve only had 2…we work hard for our money not to throw it away and I told these people I chose them over 3 other cabin locations in the surrounding areas,guess jokes on me,right!!!

Was led to believe i was renting a small cabin, instead i was rented a single room which ive seen closets bigger. And, wake up to make a cup of coffee and found roaches in the coffee supplies... not impressed at all

The Bird’s Nest was perfect for a solo getaway. It was very clean and the property owners were very responsive with any questions or concerns. There were only two things that were not great. First, the bathtub tap is me at for a sink so it took over 30 minutes to fill the tub when I wanted to enjoy a bath. Second, there are blinds but no curtains and there is a light that hangs right in front of the one window so I didn’t sleep well because every night it felt like the sun was coming up all night. I did tell the owners and suggested either offering a curtain for the window or moving the lights outside so they stopped before the window. Hopefully that will be addressed for future guests. I loved the seat on the porch, and the sound of the running water in front of the cabin, I spent an afternoon reading and napping on the porch, it was perfect. The Bird’s Nest and the overall property were beautiful. I would go again and recommend to friends

Incredible Weekend

My daughter and I stayed at The Bird’s Nest for the weekend. We had a mother/daughter event and this place was just what we needed. My daughter loved the jetted bathtub and the fun swing on the porch. The playground was really neat, too. So many fun things there. The place was comfy cozy and just what we needed for the two of us. The drive in was so sweet with string lights lighting the way. A lovely place for a weekend retreat. We played Uno while hearing the night time critters and the little stream nearby. We cannot wait to have another weekend at The Bird’s Neat.

Just what we needed

Perfect place for our romantic get away. Perfect setting for shutting out the world and reconnecting with a loved one. From the quaint accommodations to the peaceful trails it would be hard to pick my favorite part. My partner and I enjoyed our stay very much

Birds nest

Great location. Very convenient to lots of hiking trails. The check in process was super easy. The unit was clean, and everything was in working order. Wifi signal was very poor, and TV wouldn't stream shows because of that, but overall very satisfied with the stay.
