I have good reason to believe that the housekeeping staff stole property of mine.
My wife and I went to a local brewery for dinner and brought back a 4-pack of a special beer as a gift for a friend. After check out at breakfast we realized we forgot to get them, so my wife calls the front desk to say "we forgot beer in the fridge, could you please hold them for us? We'll pick them up soon." The attendant says sure no problem. Back at the hotel when we're picking up the cans one of them is missing. I notice immediately and ask about it. She says that's what she was given from the housekeeping staff. Both my wife and I are 100% confident that we purchased a 4-pack not a 3-pack. There is no doubt in our minds. The attendant and I eventually walk up to our room (#308) to search. The cans had a dark label, so maybe one popped out of the holder and rolled away? I look all over the floor and don't find the missing can. When her and I spoke with the cleaning staff they told me that "it was open so I threw it in the trash." WHAT? I couldn't believe what I heard. I should have insisted to see the empty can in the trash. I never opened any cans in the room (bc gift). Also, that means it was open while in the holder...?? The cleaner lady LIED STRAIGHT TO MY FACE. Because either 1) she took it before the desk called to say we're coming back or 2) she took it when the desk said there's beer in the fridge. The "open" part was just her way out of it. Fine room but this really pissed me off.
