Sunny mansard in the heart of Old Town

  • Amplio apartamento de estilo escandinavo. Profesionalmente reformado y decorado por los propietarios. Estancia ideal para una pareja, familia de cuatro o amigos cercanos en el centro del casco antiguo.

    Durante siglos, el espacio solía ser un almacén en el ático con vigas de madera del siglo XV mantenidas expuestas e integradas en el interior. Se ha reformado en los años 90 en una sala de estar de una habitación, pero ha mantenido el carácter rústico y la sensación de un almacén original.

    Históricamente, el edificio pertenecía a terrenos con 6 edificios residenciales construidos en el siglo 14-19. De los cuales el edificio de piedra del siglo XIV con nuestro apartamento en el ático es el único que sobrevivió del asentamiento comercial ruso medieval. En 1537, cuando volvió a aparecer en las entradas del libro de bienes raíces de Riga, se marcó como el edificio residencial de Ernst van Mengden. Mengdens (en alemán: von Mengden) es una antigua familia báltica alemana conocida en Livonia desde el siglo XV y se registró en Vidzeme y en la matrícula de Caballeros de Estonia.

Lovely apartment perfectly located in the middle of Rīga Old Town. Great view over the rooftops, quiet, cosy and tidy. Very friendly and professionally managed. We loved it very much!

Perfect Accommodation would highly recommend

I would highly recommend staying here. It was a comfortable, cozy, well-decorated space with an excellent location. It was spotlessly clean, had all amenities and the host Guntis was very helpful with excellent communication and prompt responses

Die Wohnung liegt sehr zentral und ruhig in der schönen Altstadt von Riga.Sie ist sehr sauber, gut ausgestattet und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und umgehend in der Kommunikation.Der Zugang mit mehreren Codes mutet an Fort Knox an und erscheint in der Beschreibung schwierig, ist aber letztendlich einfach. Der Treppenaufstieg, besonders der letzte Teil mit Wendeltreppe, ist eventuell für ältere Menschen und mit Gepäck nicht ganz einfach. Wir waren begeistert von diesem Wohnort in Riga.

Sunny mansard was outstanding!! We LOVED the location, and were very thankful for the parking spot. The amenities for the apartment were perfect - the kitchen was well appointed and the bathroom had very nice amenities. The bed was very comfortable and our daughters slept comfortably on the couch. We loved our stay and really hope to stay there in the future. We highly recommend!!

Amazing location, great accommodations

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment has everything you need, very thoughtfully and tastefully furnushed. Location is amazing, we loved the outhentic experience of staying on Old Town Riga. Guntis is a great host, communication was top notch, very responsive and prompt. If we are back, we would definitely stay there again.

Excelente propriedade. Única coisa é prestar atenção que realmente há muitas escadas e, se vc tiver malas grandes não é aconselhável . Mas este alerta está bem descrito na hora de reservar . A comunicação com os proprietários é excelente . Obrigada por esta experiência !

This beautiful apartment is in a lovely part of Riga’s historic centre. It comes fully equipped with everything needed for a short or long stay, and the host is immediately responsive to every question. We felt at home immediately and enjoyed a very restful four days visiting Riga. We could have stayed several days more and been very happy! The only caution is for people with mobility issues or carrying heavy luggage. The apartment is at the top of three sets of winding stairs, and the last set is a metal spiral staircase. Anything larger than a carry-on bag or backpack will be a challenge to bring up or down. It was not a problem for us — we have learned to travel light after years of trial and error — but it is worth knowing! Thank you to the hosts for providing such a charming and comfortable space.

Mitten in der Altstadt

Wir haben den Aufenthalt in Riga sehr genossen! Die Wohnung ist gut ausgestattet und sehr zentral gelegen - das bedeutet im Sommer auch einen gewissen Lärmpegel von der Straße, der für uns aber völlig ok war. Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war super, wir konnten früher einchecken. Auf Nachfragen und Probleme wurde schnell reagiert. Wer sehr viel Gepäck hat, sollte die schmale Treppe nach oben bedenken.

This place is terrible if you are travelling from overseas with luggage <>23kgs. The room is located on the 4th or 5th floor with no elevator. There is no way after a long flight to the destination you can manage to carry your luggage to the 4th floor, The stairway is narrow and the last stair approaching the room is a spiral stairway that is too narrow and made of steel, not to mention the hallway is dark. The location is perfect its next to tourist attraction. However, the property should have mentioned that there is no elevator, even if you are physically fit it will take much of your strength, I will feel bad if you are older and fragile with luggage. Also, when I called the property I spoke with this guy and inquired about the elevator he simply answered there is non and laugh about it. For backpacker travelers this place is for you.
