"We were lucky to find Big Timbers for our Itasca State Park weekend. The location is ideal being right across the street from the North entrance. The rooms perfect size for a small family or couple. Everything was new and clean and we had everything we needed for a great stay. We loved the ice cream and pizza from the store on site. "

"Cutie little cabins in the woods "

"Booked the property only a week before our visit. Super convenient access to the north entrance of Itasca State park.Some items of note: the bathroom door latch did not latch. The pillows kept falling down in the space under the headboard. The water pressure in the shower was only so-so at best. The temperature was very good. Lots of space in the unit - girlfriend suggested a small chest of drawers to unpack stuff into. We did have great interaction with Christine (owner) at the next door ice...

"This lovely little motel was exactly what we needed, a home base while we explored & hiked, visited w friendly locals & ate great walleye. Christine was quick & easy to communicate with, and our room was squeaky clean!"

"There is nothing about this place that isn’t absolutely beautiful in every way. The home was unique and so comfortable, decorated and finished with such care. The location, so remote and quiet. The 360°views from the upstairs deck, numerous windows or just walking around the carefully landscaped yard were amazingly beautiful! "We had a great time at this little cabin! It's rustic in the sense that there is no running water but it has everything you need. Very clean campground with lots of amenities. Cabin is in it's own private area with it's own clean outhouse and water available outside. Conveniently located with Bemidji and Itasca nearby. We will be back!"

"Drop dead gorgeous lake without the jammed, crowded lake houses so many other Minnesota lakes offer. Unique island location. The sauna was immensely popular with everyone. Special feeling to float in the lake at night after the sauna experience. Armada of toys and games kept the young ones engaged. Kayaks and paddle boards. Two fridges were ever so helpful when you have a party of 12 as we did. Communication with the host was lightning-fast and friendly. The island is a magnet for fish. Overall,...

"You can be a hermit, or run back into town for what have you. The appliances are first rate. The owner had just cut the grass. The bed had a very comfy mattress"

"The property was 10/10, hot tub overlooking the lake, stocked firewood, lots of kids activities to offer. The only downfall was my dad had a very difficult time getting to the bathroom in his wheelchair, the hallways and bathroom very tight to be classified as “wheelchair accessible” The ramp is doable with assistance up and the entrance was very wide with open floor plan through the living room and into the kitchen. If staying and in a wheelchair, you may be struggle a bit."
