Kookaburra Retreat is a peaceful, semi-rural, country estate located in the heart of pristine Margaret River bushland. Set on 7 acres of native trees, this charming holiday home is conveniently located just minutes from the regions white sand beaches, wineries, galleries and the bustling township of Margaret River. The home is classic Margs style, mud brick and jarrah construction with all the character you would come to expect of a classic, down south, bush hideaway. There are 4 generous ...



There are 4 generous sized bedrooms, one king bed, two have queen beds and the fourth bedroom has a singles bunk and another single bed. It has 3 bathrooms with showers over 2 levels, a laundry, two TVs, board games, a large open plan kitchen dining area - well equipped with modern appliances, that connect via French doors to the wide, wrap around verandah – a stunning feature of this home. (perfect for the evening show courtesy of the local wildlife). Possums, skinks, kangaroos and a large variety of birds are commonly seen around the house and form part of the Kookaburra Retreat experience. Enjoy summer BBQ’s overlooking the shady yard, creek and dam or a cosy winter stay beside the enormous open fireplace that warms the living area. This house provides plenty of room for two families to share and has a fully fenced garden to contain little tikes and your dog. For those seeking solitude and the chance to reconnect with nature, this home is for you! Please note there is a weak phone signal for some service providers but we have a WIFI at this property. Adult supervision of small children is required around the small, fenced dam situated on the block. No leavers please

Head south out of Margaret River along Bussel Highway and turn right into Boodjidup Road at the roundabout. Travel past the light industrial area for about 5 km and number 530 will be on your right. Its easy to miss so keep an eye out for the numbers. It has a gravel road and you cant see the house from the road.



There is a fenced off dam adjacent to the house. Children are not allowed within the dam fence boundary.

Beautiful home close to town centre

When we arrived to this property, we were absolutely taken back by its beauty. It exceeded our expectations. It was super isolated by beautiful nature and gorgeous wildlife, words dont do justice honestly. The big beautiful windows throughout the house and ghe unique layouy were a few of the many things we loved. Highly recommend staying here, everything was supplied even down to dishwasher tablets. We wjll definitely be returnjng with our family.

MidWeek Escape

From Kookaburra wake ups to evening skippy sips of wine, we were immersed by beautiful natural company. The house was well stocked for cooking (gorgeous oven and stove) and had a unique layout that felt homely and private. .

Bushland Retreat

We loved staying at the Kookaburra! Nestled in the bush just out of MargaretRiver. It was so good for our 2 and half year old and our dog to play and run around. Has a secure fence around the property.Loved sitting on the verandah watching the kangaroos at Dusk! And there were flood lights shining up the Trees at night which was amazing!! Definitely will book again!

Quiet hideaway close to town centre

Our stay was very enjoyable overall, despite the hiccup of a power cut during the first hour we’re there. The house was well appointed and very comfortable, and nice and secluded, but still within a 10 minute drive of Margaret River.

Amazing property, beautiful location

Loved our stay here. The house was spacious and well equipped. There was an issue with the washing machine on day three but it was promptly replaced with a brand new one. Saw possums and kangaroos in the evening whilst sitting outside relaxing on the verandah. We will definitely be back at this fabulous property.

Group of friends stayed at the property. Very clean and beautiful property. Away from the hustle and bustle of City/town. 3 bathrooms made the stay seemless. Really good location, close to wineries and Margaret River Town.

Kookaburra Lodge

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Kookaburra Lodge! We took our fur baby as well and she loved it! Lots of room for her to run. The house contained everything you would ever need and was clean and comfortable! Lovely secluded spot with ducks and ducklings on the pond and the odd kangaroo popping over to check us out! Highly recommended!

A well appointed large 4 bedroom 3 home. A great location, a short distance from the town and amongst some of the best wineries Margaret River has to offer. We had a great stay. All round a highly recommended property.

Peaceful bush hideaway

Thanks for a lovely stay in the beautiful Kookaburra Retreat. Excellent location and we loved the enclosed yard so our dogs could enjoy a nice holiday too. Well equipped house which would work for a large group. The big kids enjoyed the games room with ping pong and the kooky pool table. Only improvement we could suggest would be new mattresses for king and queen beds as they were rather uncomfortable. Thanks for a great, relaxing holiday 💚
