"Staff are brilliant here. Tam the chef makes tasty meals ,can recommend the carvery for an evening meal and the pancakes at breakfast were yummy. Natasha served breakfast, she's a breath of fresh air, happy and cheerful in the morning, but all the staff are great. The tables could do with a bit of TLC it brings the overall look down a bit. Bedrooms are clean and comfy beds , tea ,coffee ,milk "

"We had a lovely room with a large bathtub. The bed was very comfortable. The town lost power but we still had hot water which was awesome as it allowed us to have hot showers in the morning. They also made arrangements for a complimentary hot breakfast our second morning when the power was back on. Holly was excellent and enabled us to check in even without the power. She was there to assist us right away. Heather was our server and was wonderful as well when we had breakfast. Breakfast was...

"Our Dog was welcomed. Very friendly and approachable staff, our room was as expected clean and exactly what we required as being disabled, on the ground floor and a walk in shower. We had no problems getting there, and being there, staff were excellent and attentive, Especially Gavin GM. Dale HM, and Pete the Executive Chef. Other staff were friendly and helpful too. We had a great stay."

"This was our favourite stay during our road trip around west Scotland The staff were incredibly polite and kind natured The food was amazing ( large portions ) The decor is quirky and charming We stayed in what I could better describe as an apartment more so than a room- stone floors and lovely and clean The staff recommended a walk for us with the kids and it was perfect, alongside the loch, to beaches with incredible views Very nice place indeed "

"Overall, poor standard of accommodation for £140 per night. Cleanliness and maintenance standards were very low. Had to ask for a move of room as couldnt even open the windows in our room. 2nd room was marginally better, st least we could get some fresh air!"

"We had a wonderful stay in the spacious and elegant Merchant’s Suite, which had a wood stove and a jetted tub. The staff were all very kind and welcoming. We enjoyed all the breakfast options and we had dinner multiple nights in the pub- delicious. "

"Very clean room well serviced. Extremely comfortable bed and well heated rooms in December. We had a suite which was ideal for our short stay.. We were less happy with the many stairs, to get there although to be fair it was mentioned clearly in guest information. The old building is a real Greenock icon, but suffered from a leaking roof resulting in drips albeit during a storm with torrential rain. Had a nice meal in the restaurant on the first evening. Very happy to returnnnext year though."
