On arrival, the bach was very dusty, which didn’t align with the cleaning costs that were charged. The floors needed mopping, the couch was covered in fingerprints, and the jute rugs have seen better days. We vacuumed the house as soon as we arrived. There is a crack in the front door which is a safety hazard, especially as we were travelling with children. The front door does not lock with a key from the outside. It appears the exterior part of the lock has been changed, but the inside is still the old mechanism, meaning the house is unlocked when you leave and you have to trust no one will steal your belongings. Although it can be locked from the inside at night. There are also cracked tiles just outside the bathroom, which are a trip hazard. The pool edges are starting to rust and some are even missing, exposing sharp edges. It may be an issue if someone were to scrape themselves. There is a dog that regularly sits under the veranda and will wipe muddy paws on towels or clothing if left outside. WARNING we were charged for washing towels that became dirty due to the dog.On the positive side, the bedrooms are a good size, the beds are comfortable, and there were five fans available to help with the heat.Kitchen was well equipped if you wanted to cook. The caretaker was very helpful. Overall, the bach has potential, but improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and clearer expectations around pets and provided amenities would greatly improve the experience.
